K2400 drivers

Hi I need to write a program using C# and visual studio to control a K2400 via GPIB. On Keithley's website I found two sets of drivers : 24xx Family VXIPnP/VISA-based Driver (24xx-851C03) for Visual Basic (VB), C/C++, LabVIEW5.1, LabWindowsCVI5.5 or higher 2400 IVI Driver for Visual Basic (VB), VC/C...

Ohm accuracy calculations - manual vs auto

Hi When making Ohm measurements with a 2400, should I calculate the measurements accuracy directly using the value for Resistance measurement accuracy, or should I calculate it as Iacc + Vacc ? If we take an example, say 10 Ohm @ 100 mA (so 1V measurement voltage). Using the Racc spec : Racc = 0.1% ...

Re: Waveform completed event

Thanks Dale. I saw this in the manual, but I wasn't sure. On page 11-13 it says : Bit B7, Wave Stopped (WStop) — Set bit indicates that the Wave mode has been aborted. Does a waveform stopping when it has reached its specified duration qualify as aborting ? I thought aborting meant someone manually ...

Waveform completed event

Hi

I'm controlling a 6221 via GPIB. I use the 6221 to generate waveforms with a finite duration. Is there a way of remotely querying when the waveform is completed ?

Thanks

Re: 6221 Labview driver trouble

Stuart, I never got round to answering you, but that's a terrible reply you gave me. You were basically saying "debug it yourself" ! Do you actually support these drivers ? Anyway, I found the bug, maybe you can correct it in the next version. As you can see in the attachment, when you select "squar...

6221 self-test fail

Hi

When doing a self-test on my 6221, using the command "*tst?" via GPIB, I get "1" as a result. According to the manual, this is a fail. However, my 6221 seems to be working normally, and I get no other error messages, at start up for example.
So, is there anything wrong with it ?

Re: 6221 driver problem

Ok I've found the problem. The drivers are programmed to use "." as a decimal separator, and my computer uses ",", so the 6221 didn't understand the current values being sent.

6221 driver problem

Hi I'm using the Labview 2009 drivers for the Keithley 6221 ("Keithley 622x LV 2009") and controlling it via GPIB. I'm having a couple of problems with the provided example VIs. 1) "setup dc current source example". The vi activates the 6221's output, but the current is always zero, regardless of th...

Re: About labview control of 6221/2182 for Delta measurement

Hi Dale

I'd like to use your example vi, but I have Labview 2009 so I can't open it. Could you save it in 2009 format and post it here ?

Thanks !

6221 Labview driver trouble

Hi I'm having trouble with the 6221 drivers for Labview 2009 which I downloaded from the Keithley website. I'm trying to control the 6221 remotely via GPIB. Here are 2 of the problems I've encountered : 1) Are there any issues using the drivers with 2012 ? I tested the "setup DC current source examp...

Re: 6221 banana jack guard

I'm not a specialist in electronics, so I'm not sure what all that implies. I carried out the following test : I connected a resistor to the generator, and set a DC output current. I measured the voltage on the banana jack guard with 1) just a voltmeter (with I guess a 1-10 MOhm impedance), 2) the v...

6221 banana jack guard

Hi I've already asked this question twice here without an answer, so please tell me if it doesn't make sense or something. I need to know the output impedance of the banana jack guard, or the maximum current it can ouput. The reason : I need to measure this voltage with a National Instruments DAQ bo...

Re: 6221 with lock-in amplifier

That should work. If you choose #1 as the output line, then you should then measure the trigger signal between #1 and #8 (ground). The pulse is very short though, about 1 µs, so you may have to zoom in a bit to see it.

Re: 6221 with lock-in amplifier

Have you done this ?
by Dale C » October 25th, 2010, 1:10 pm
Use the Phase Marker output pulse to track for the Lock in amplifier.
because by default the phase marker is deactivated. Then use pins 3 and 8 (from memory) to connect to the lock-in input, and it should work.

Re: 6221 with lock-in amplifier

Hi

I also use a 6221 with a SR830 lock-in, with a home made adapter like you. On the 830's REF IN, I set Trig to POS EDGE and it works fine. Have you tried this ?

Re: 6221 output voltage

I have another question about the Guard output terminal : what is its impedance ? I couldn't find the information in the manual.
