2300 interface to VB examples

I am not sure how to interface the 2308 to a PC. I would like some assistance in this regard. I installed the following, since I was not sure what to install: Keithley Configuration Panel VISA Assistant Agilent Interactive IO (as I am using a AGILENT GPIB to USB device) WHat is the best way to conne...

Re: Analog outputs donot seem to output anything in remote s

Vince, Thanks for the response. What I meant to say was that when I connected a scope to the analog outputs, the scope trace still showed 0 volts, even though I was drawing 20 MA through a 300 ohm resistor across which was 6 V. The Display on the 2308 registered 20 MA. The scope seemed OK, because w...

Re: Analog outputs donot seem to output anything in remote s

I restored it back to the Local sense connection vide user manual page page 2-6. The situation did not change. As a test I measured the analog output using a multimeter. On the 0.5A/5A output (analog outputs) 20 mA seems to be show as 10 mV. This voltage drops when the current also drops. I remember...

Analog outputs donot seem to output anything in remote sense

I wired the 2308 in remote sense mode for "Battery channel fastest transient response connection" as per the "Model 2308 Portable Device Battery/Charger Simulator User’s Manual" page 2-4. As a test my DUT is a 300 ohm resistor. The display shows a current of 20 MA for 6V output. The analog aoutputs ...

Re: Output connections

Can I "add" battery capacities? Let me explain with an example. Assuming my device draws 0.15mA for 3 minutes and 30mA for 1 minute. If I draw a current v/s time curve, it will look like two rectangles. The I*t product of the rectangle with current of .15mA is 0.15*3 (milliAmp Minutes) and the the s...

Re: Output connections

Thanks. I am new to this instrument so I wanted to bother you to get some more info :D 1) What is the difference or advantage/disadvantage of using LOCAL sense vis-a vis REMOTE sense. 2) I have an application in which I use the 2308 as a battery source. My device sleeps at an almost constant current...

Re: Output connections

Quick question. If I use local sense, can I use a scope to measure the current on the Quick DIsconnect connector, or is it only possible witth remote sense (Ref page 2-3 of Section 2: Basic Power Supply Operation Model 2308 Portable Device Battery/Charger Simulator User’s Manual). BTW what should be...
