Re: Arb pulse generation using GPIB commands

Hi,

To have the 4200 respond to gpib commands, it will need to be in KXCI mode for command parsing.

KXCI has UL command that will allow you to execute compiled user libraries (that you write in KULT). Your SegArb mode operation will need encapsulated in a KULT routine.

Re: 2461 limiting voltage to 35.7V

rogerio.hein: You have a different issue than what was reported for the 2461. The 2400 does not have true interlock. Just an optional output enable. In contrast to 2461 and interlock, the 2400 does not restrict the voltage when optional OE not used. So why are you stuck at -40? What are you connecte...

Re: Odd Errors ACS, TSB with 2612A

That is odd. You seem to have a couple different things going on. If the script used to work, but after power cycle does not, it implies to me that the script that was in memory but the power cycle removes it. The complaints about a global value being nil is typical symptom for that situation and it...

Re: KickStart 2.0.6 with 2701: several errors and measurement terminated

I noticed many of the exceptions are from TekVISA. The Keithley software such as KickStart will want the NI VISA. When installing, it should install the necessary NI VISA runtime. But it seems the TekVISA is used for the 2701. On 64-bit Windows 10, you can have multiple VISA vendors. And the VISA co...

Re: Reading sense hi and sense lo

To enable the remote sense lines, send this command: smua.sense = smua.SENSE_REMOTE Keep in mind the max delta voltage between the force HI and Sense HI is 3V. Also max 3V delta between force LO and Sense LO. Your force HI will see the I*R drop from the sum of total sample resistance and the contact...

Re: Ground loop between 6221 and 2182a

Mauricio, I'm having difficulty to imagine how a ground loop is created. The connector config of the 6221 is just assigning the role to the inner shield. The two instruments can be floating with respect to chassis ground (use HI and LO of each) with a Gig Ohm or more of isolation from chassis ground...

Re: SMU sampling rate ITM vs. VLFCV

In the ITM settings, you have addressed all the available adjustments to influence the speed: Fixed ranges and Timing using smallest aperture and delay and filter factor to zero. In addition to the VLowFreqCV library, there is also the Quasi-Static CV library. The full source code for that one is on...

Re: Negative current and resistance values

How are your connections from the triax connectors to your sample? Is it possible you have an open circuit? Even if negative, does the current increase as function of the applied voltage, or just randomly near to zero amps?

Re: DMM 3706A Filter Settings

These three commands work together: dmm.filter.enable default value is dmm.OFF dmm.filter.type default value is repeating average dmm.filter.count default value is 10 Based upon other settings, your meter may be awaiting a trigger signal to obtain the other 9 readings before it can return the filter...

Re: Error 802 (interlock) when using factory program

It is odd that the max 40V model 2601A is giving this message. Typically, it is only the 200V models such as 2611A that will yield this behavior when attempting to use the 200V range. Due to shock hazard, the 200V range requires the safety interlock signal on the DB25 connector on rear of instrument...

Re: 2636B: Measuring current without sourcing DUT

It is possible. Keep in mind, the SMU is always forcing something and limiting the opposite parameter. If forcing voltage, it limits current. To have the SMU behave like an AMP meter, insert it into your circuit using the force HI and force LO. Config it to force 0V and set current limit higher than...

Re: low current measurement in low voltage environment

The 2182A is a specialty meter targeting nanovolt resolution measurements. It offers a 10mV range with 1nV resolution. The one year specs on this range indicate you could measure 1uV with a 40nV uncertainty. It is provided with a highly engineered cable to minimize thermal EMFs. It terminates in cop...

Re: Keithley 2612: Error code -314 at startup sequence

There are ultra caps for the memory such as user defined setups.

Try saving a user defined setup to one of the locations.

If the ultra caps are no longer charging, the nvmemory content is vulnerable.
To get rid of error, the parts need replacing.

Re: Controlling the 3706A switch via LAN port with C# (x64)

If you prefer to have x64 bit, I’d suggest to program at the VISA API level and use the write() and read() to interact with the 3706A. Rather than resource like GPIB0::26::INSTR, the LAN based will be TCPIP::ip_addr::INSTR. IVI and VISA will use these resource descriptors. Will you be sourcing or me...

Re: low current measurement in low voltage environment

The 200mV measure range of 2400 has an allowable offset error of 300uV. It can report small changes still as the magnitude drops below this offset error threshold value spec, but absolute accuracy and repeatability is called into question below 300uV. You need a better voltage measuring tool. How sm...

The blue highlight and yellow text indicate an issue for the rows where it occurs.
The code means the auto balance bridge on CVU LO side could not achieve balance.
Are these measurements performed on wafer?

Re: breakdown voltage on a Transient Voltage Suppressor

If you have a dual channel, 200V SourceMeter model such as the 2612B, you can wire the channels in series to effectively have a 400V SMU. Revision D of the 2600B has a section on combining SMU channels. https://www.tek.com/keithley-source-measure-units/smu-2600b-series-sourcemeter-manual-8 Do you wa...

Re: 2410 Read Voltage loads UUT output

Probably has something to do with output off mode, eg, what happens when SMU blue light is off. Is this the condition underwhich you see the UUT loading?
