Re: Looking for battery model for dry battery AAA or AA

Here is battery model for 2281S battery simulating power supply.
It was generated with 100mA constant discharge with script on 2450 SourceMeter.
The battery is a carbon zinc Panasonic UM-4NP or AAA.

Re: Looking for battery model for dry battery AAA or AA

I have some batteries in hand. Just to review, we know that the model for a battery is dependent on the rate at which the charge is extracted. From a typical battery data sheet: battery_model_generate_pic1.PNG With a SourceMeter, we can easily do this constant rate of discharge until the voltage is ...

Re: set_mode command

What model tester is this?
I would think a conpin() type command is more appropriate than set_mode().

Re: SCPI commands for loading test sequence in 2260B

Test Sequence feature is only from manual operation after loading the csv file to a memory location. No SCPI commands are defined to access it.

Re: international timestamps

Unfortunately, that is not a feature of the instrument. Two options I can think of: The timestamp is really a string. Use a custom format in Excel to get the desired format: DAQ6510_Excel_DataFormat.PNG Other option would be to create a formatting function within the Lua runtime to format the timest...

Re: Questions on relay states and reporting

Latched relay state remains after power is removed/3706A power down. During power up, there is a reset to open all relays. The channel.getclose() is reporting the last commanded state. After the instrument performs is relay reset at power on, the instrument tracks the states as they are applied, whi...

Thank you for this info.

I have the zinc carbon batteries ordered. They are not so common here in the States.

Re: Looking for battery model for dry battery AAA or AA

Is that a zinc carbon battery?
I’m curious for your application.
If we generate one for you using our 2450 SourceMeter, the model is impacted by the current used during the discharge. Can you tell us more of your use case?

Re: Temperature measurement big discrepancy

If it is 1.5 yrs old, I’d first check the firmware. Version 1.7.2 is current release. For the thermocouple on front or rear terminals, you are providing a simulated reference junction temperature. That would be an estimate of the temp at those terminals or the room temp. I’d expect a room temp close...

Re: How to connect 4200A by Clarius to 3700A switch/Multimeter

In general, 4200 or 4200A can connect to external instruments on gpib or LAN. For switching, it is fairly common to use our 707x or 708x matrix switching. There is a KULT library and UTM for switchctrl. This library assumes a gpib connection is made to model 707x. If you put 3706A on gpib, would not...

Here link to an application note for the DAQ6510.
The code listings in appendix C and D make socket based connection to the instrument.
It is Python language.

Re: Empty string output from the 2461 sourcemeter

Check your firmware on the 2461.

I assume you are using NI VISA for the connection. Which version?

Connection to the 2461 is usb, gpib or Lan?

If usb on pc is involved, check the Windows power management on usb. Maybe is a suspend issue?

Re: Keithly 486 - IEEE output

Your PC will need a GPIB interface and you will have to connect to the 486. Then use 488.2 or VISA to communicate with the 486 and read back the measure data. The command set for the 486 will be documented in the manual. It uses very simple commands like R0 for auto range, etc. You can use any progr...

Re: Resistance measurement during pulses

Sorry, I do not have the same in SCPI. Do you have a constraint that prevents using TSP command set? TSP can do 100% of what SCPI can; TSP can do a lot more too. Use of SCPI when TSP is avail is a rare choice for me. As for the other question about 'are you forced to use digitizer': I would say no. ...

Re: trigger.BLOCK_WAIT not working as expected

Event detectors can latch events. Since your event timer is essentially free running (count = 0), your BLOCK_WAIT is proceeding (too soon) due to a latched timer event from an "old" EVENT_TIMER1. You can optionally clear as you enter wait blocks: trigger.model.setblock(2, trigger.BLOCK_WAIT, trigger...

Re: SCPI code for 2450

The 6487 and the 2450 are very different types of instruments. The commands will have several differences. I suggest you determine the functional way the 6487 was used. Did you make use of the voltage source? Or did it just measure current? To have the 2450 SourceMeter behave in similar way, have it...
