Re: loading script into DMM7510 with SCPI commands

The instrument has two different command sets: SCPI or TSP. Must be in TSP to use scripts. To put a script into the runtime memory, something like this: (assuming you have a session and can write and read over the bus) #load a function into TSP Runtime Memory my_instr.write("loadscript myScriptName"...

Re: DMM6500 Digitizer sample rate

The SimpleLoop trigger template will have the overhead of the steps (2 through 5) being repeated to acquire the N points. SimpleLoop_Trigger_Template.PNG Using the SCPI or TSP command to start the digitize with sample count N would be equivalent to just the block #3 but with a count of N rather than...

Re: 6221/2182A Delta mode - output blocked by interlock

The 6221 current source can tolerate compliance voltage as high as 100V. You can set the v limit to lower value, but as much as 100V is possible. Since this represents a shock hazard, the product has an interlock. This is similar to how a microwave oven will not start or will halt if the door is ope...

Re: Connection to the computer

Just to confirm: if you press the end app button and have the default UI running on the SMU, does the virtual front panel/web UI properly display and operate the SMU normally?

Re: Connection to the computer

I'm able to run the electrochemistry scripts from the virtual front panel. It remains interactive. Using firmware 1.7.3. Does your virtual front panel maintain connection well for the default UI of the 2460/not running the custom GUI for the EC scripts? Try a different browser. 2450-EC_virtual_front...

Re: DMM6500 Digitizer sample rate

I'm at firmware 1.7.3c and using TSP command set. I'm not seeing any issues with timestamp for DigiV mode. Here is my test code: function Single_Digitize(numofsamples) --Reset the instrument to default settings. reset() --Create a local variable to store the number of samples desired --numofsamples=...

AFG31000 LAN communication - port number

The AFG31K make use of port 5025 just like LXI or VXI-11 compliant products use. Therefore, in the VISA resource descriptors can use the INSTR class, e.g., "TCPIP0::192.168.1.67::INSTR" NOTE: the AFG31K is not LXI, so will not be discoverable by VISA resource manager Here is simple Python/pyvisa bas...

Analog Triggering and VDC Measure Function

A recent application request: measure the voltage during the pulse top. Pulse width will be ~10msec long. Equipment: DAQ6510 and 7700 On the DAQ6510, will use both of the default buffers. This allow us to separate the pre-Trigger from post-Trigger data. The aperture (measure time) for the integratin...

Re: Chaining DMM7510 with DIN to BNC trigger cable Model 8503

Can you put a scope on it and verify that the trigger is delivered to the DMM7510? The EXTTRIG should be the input trigger to the DMM7510.

How are you setting up the DMM to use the trigger source?

Re: Question about uncertainties

From the specs, you can compute the error for each reading at the 150mV and 152mV levels. Using your example, that is 17uV and 17.2uV Do RMS on these to arrive at 24.4uV. I believe RMS would be the error combining approach. Worst case, suppose the one reading was at low limit of allowed error and se...

Re: Sweep of trains of current pulses

Once you start the smua.trigger.initiate(), the trigger model will not look for any new source values to output. I'm assuming you are using this commmand to program what level of current is sourced: --smua.trigger.source.listi({iLevel}) Running it with an arm count of zero/infinite running, you'd ha...

Re: 6517A Buffer readings format and transfer

If you want to use binary mode data formatting on the information that the instrument sends to PC, you'll need to convert it from the IEEE754. Here is some code from VB.NET to illustrate the concept. It assumes you have configured the instrument to use binary and have a reading ready to retrieve. ' ...

Re: 2602A - Autorange problem in pulse mode

The 2602A uses integrating A/D converter for the measurements. Primary way to affect how much time a single measurement requires is the smuX.measure.nplc setting. Default is 1.0 or a duration equal to 1/Power Freq. 60Hz here in the States. For 50Hz, this means 20msec per reading. The minimum nplc va...

Curious, are the last few measurements before exit showing the C or T indication for compliance? What version of KTEI or Clariu...
