Re: Ids-Vds with external power supply

On the rear panel of the 6517B, the VSource has red and black banana. Plug the LO of your power supply into the black banana of the VSource. Connect the power supply HI to the Gate. This creates the following: PS_6517B.PNG The power supply voltage is applied across the Vgs of the DUT and the Amp met...

Re: List of event number for Keithley 2460, to check if the read from a buffer has been completed

Here is some SCPI cmds for having the SMU assert an SRQ when the OPC bit is set (operation complete). I'm just having the SMU perform a 50 point repeating average measurement of current to create a long duration task. I was using Python to send these commands: 2450_Assert_SRQ_on_OPC.PNG In the attac...

Re: 2450: Delay when switching between source voltage ranges

To get good timing control on the waveform sourced by the 2450, is best to use the trigger blocks to load values from a source configuration list. The config list can specify not only the source value, but the range to use, the limit to apply, etc. Additionally, a timer object can be used to generat...

Re: List of event number for Keithley 2460, to check if the read from a buffer has been completed

Hello, Chapter 16 in that Reference Manual has the list of event numbers. Can you clarify what you mean by read operation from a buffer is completed. To my mind, the read from buffer is something the PC does (often from a VISA session and the viREAD). If instead you mean when a reading has been stor...

Unfortunately, that is going to require an RMA and a trip to the service center to recover the interrupted firmware flash.

Trigger Model - Sine Wave of Current

Using 2450 as a current source with voltage limiting, we can generate slow sine waves. Here is a scope shot of a 36 point per cycle, 10Hz, 10mA peak-peak sine into 500Ω: 2450_SineWave_FIMV_scope_shot.PNG On the instrument: 2450_SineWave_FIMV_reading_table_view.PNG Attached are some TSP files for the...

Re: Fixed timestep source and measure

What is the motivation for a different current limit with each config list entry? Just protective of the device or are you using the limit to control how much current, e.g. you are deliberately in compliance and not really a v-source. Changes to the ranges or other aspects of the the setup can often...

Trigger Model - Pulse I, Measure V

In the attached document, a TSP script that is run from Test Script Builder is provided. It defines an operation to toggle between two source levels when a timer object elapses. The timer object is also used as the stimulus for a digital output strobe; this gives some timing marks to have more insig...

Re: 2260B Issue using CC output mode

Let me make sure I understand: are you trying to config the power supply to deliver 10mA of constant current with a voltage compliance of 28V?
Which exact model of 2260B do you have?

Re: TSP Link initialization failed

Each product that has TSP-LINK capability is shipped with a CAT5 crossover cable for use in the TSP-LINK connectors. Make sure it is a crossover cable for the tsplink. In the front panel menus of each instrument, assign a unique node number to each instrument. If using a PC also, connect the PC comm...

Re: Keithley Hall Effect Test Suite for 7001 and 7065

For 7065 matrix in 7001 controller: no active application software available.

For RoHS, 7065 was migrated to 3765 and is used in 3706A controller. There is a sample application on the web to facilitate using that matrix.

Re: Averaging short pulsed current using 2450 Sourcemeter

The 2450 SourceMeter has integrating A/D converter. The minimum aperture is 0.01*(1/your power freq). For 50Hz power, this means 200usec is the most brief measure aperture. For a signal that is present only for 5usec, I think it unlikely to be able to give you meaningful measurement. Considering the...

Re: Breakdown Test Sweep V, Exit on Current Limit

Yes, that can be done. Here is sweeping the voltage to 250V (1V steps) on a 10GΩ resistor and on a 200V Zener. In the case of the zener, we exit the sweep early. This same code will work with any of the 2600A or 2600B models (up to their max voltage capability). 2657A_Exit_on_Compliance.PNG Here is ...

Re: 2410 4-wire measurements

The 2410 SourceMeter (and most Keithley SMU) require you to both connect the sense lines AND send a command to enable their use. NOTE: sending the command to enable them will result in a 4W annunciator on front panel to light up. NOTE2: sending the command to enable them, but not connecting them can...

Re: Error Code 1121 ????

Is there also a message displayed? Does it have to do with the firmware level? Can you send the *idn? command and post the response? When a beta (unreleased) firmware is applied to an instrument, it will display the message 1121 to remind you that you do not have a released firmware level. I suggest...

Re: 2450 SMU - periodic glitching when sourcing voltage to resistor

I did/do share a bit of surprise that the sourced current has the periodic signature. The 2450 design and performance specs call for use of an integrating A/D at 1 NPLC. This results in a lot of signal averaging and low effective bandwidth relative to the faster tools such as the digitizer in the DM...

Re: Problem with low current measurements.

Mikael, For your object under test, what do you mean by guard? In the case of the 263 calibrator, you were connecting an isolated and floating signal source to your object under test. In the triax, that product made use of center pin and inner shield for HI and LO. To have the equivalent from the 26...
