Re: Keithley 6485 REL & ZCOR functions

Model 6485 has both ZCOR and REL features. Suppose a photodetector is the device from which you want to measure the current vs. time (in response to light). The PD might have some level of "dark current" that is not a response to incident light. The REL feature could be used to store this offset val...

Re: KickStart & Keithley 6485 via RS232-USB adapter

You will not like this answer. KickStart does not support the RS-232 interface type. This is true even for these COM port dongles that you plug into a USB port on the computer. They might be plugging into USB, but they create a COM port or RS-232 port on the computer. There are many of these dongles...

Re: SCPI with relays

For the filter question: For channels from the scanner card, the only supported digital filter is the repeating average. Suppose a 10 point repeating average is in effect. The DMM will only report one reading value to you, but it takes longer to report it because behind the scenes, 10 readings are o...

Re: DAQ6510 overflow error

You may need to elaborate on what you are doing. Could be as simple as select a watch channel and select Temperature as the measure function. Selecting 101 as watch channel will close relay 101 and if properly wired, you will get temperature. DAQ6510_TC_Watch_Channel.PNG On the swipe screen, you can...

Re: DAQ6510 overflow error

Usually that is because connection issue to the dmm. On the daq6510 front panel, did you select rear terminals? Must use rear for the 77xx cards to connect to dmm. Did you close a 77xx channel? There is user manual and (larger) reference manual. Section 5 of user manual is dedicated to scanning some...

Hello, For help to determine which command is causing an error, enable the command logging in the event log. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVU_C308EUc For the scanner card channels in the DMM: You can treat them as totally separate items, but you must use the multiple channel operation commands. Re: Power on Booting Fail

If I understand, you have multiple DAQ6510 and multiple 7710 at your lab. You can see the error about relay counts from more than one of the DAQ6510 + 7710 combinations. Is this really from the factory default power on boot? In your screen posts, I can see the user swipe screen has info, so I’d say ...

Re: System Hanging up

On your other post, you mention errors during instrument boot up. I advise that that be fully resolved first. An intermitted hang-up could be somehow related to 77xx errors.

When this hang up occurs, are any messages posted to the Event Log?

Re: Power on Booting Fail

Seems that one or both of the 77xx cards are having trouble to communicate relay count (number of close operations). Check firmware of the DAQ6510 and update if necessary. I wonder is you have that option licensed?
You can add it after the fact.

Re: 2450 output off after sweep

The smu.source.sweeplinear() function creates a trigger flow. On the instrument, you can observe the trigger blocks that make up the operation. After setting up the sweep, press the MENU button. Under the Trigger column, select Configure. Note that blocks 10 and 12 will cause the 2450 to turn the (b...

Re: Unable to save scan settings for Thermocouple measurement with a simulated reference

Hello. I have firmware 1.7.7b and it also does what your describe. I setup a simple TC scan to use simulated CJC. Save setup. Reboot. Recall setup and run. Check the settings = CJC set to internal. I can file a bug for this behavior as I agree it seems that the instrument should retain the setting. ...

Re: 2182A and LabVIEW, firmware error.

There is no special firmware for RS-232 vs. GPIB. Both are supported. But only one can be active at a time. Must use the front panel buttons to enable it. Seems you meter might still be in the factory default of GPIB is enabled. Review chapter 11 on configuring the RS-232. On front panel, press Shif...

Re: DAQ6510 showing NO CARD on screen

With the DAQ6510 powered down, unseat the switch card/remove it.
Inspect the backplane connector on the card, etc.
Try the other slot, and then power the DAQ back up.

Re: Source Delay Accuracy

With the older models like 2401 or 2400, you might need to do some tuning of delay parameters to get the desired pulse time.
Here is a technical document that describes the process:

Re: 2470 time control with SCPI & Python

Can you clarify what sort of time durations are you interested in? Sending commands across the bus from the PC will always have a lot more timing variability than configuring the instrument to use its state machine and step through a sequence of operations. Also keep in mind that turning the blue li...

Re: Synchronize the voltage between two SMUs

If the other voltage source can be queried over LAN, then the tsp-net feature of the 2450 TSP scripting can use the LAN port on 2450 to ask the other supply for its voltage set point and then command 2450 to follow it.

The ITM definition seems fine.
Close KITE and invoke KCON. Run the selftest for the 4225-PMU. Any errors?
I am suspecting some sort of hardware malfunction.
