Re: Charge Time for a paper exemplar

hello, actually it will take one hour for the standard R to get to the stabil situation. following that I beginn to measure the paper. I think the 6517B is ready for my measurement. But I do get the similar curve as the last time: Snip20140923_4.png the time is in hour, the current is in A as we see...

no problem with the 6517B operating

then i will try this with a 10M resistor tomorrow.

Re: Charge Time for a paper exemplar

x axis is the time in hours

current is in A. It is about 20 uA and falls slowly down to 8 uA, but still no stopping.

Charge Time for a paper exemplar

hello,

with the 8009 and 6517B we got one current-time curve under 100 V for a normal paper exemplar as follows:
Snip20140917_2.png
Snip20140917_2.png (33.67 KiB) Viewed 23881 times
the time (RC) seems very large.

can i use the following equivalent circuit to explain that?

Re: Steps to use the KUSB-488B for 6517B

What is the settings for R-Measurement? We can only measure the V.

Would you show me a snapshot?

Should I set something on the 6517 front panel?

Steps to use the KUSB-488B for 6517B

Hello, i've installed the KI-488_Driver_Version_3.12 for my new KUSB-488B: Snip20140902_1.png then i plugged it into the connector of 6517B and my laptop, after which i followed the prompts to finish the installation of the hardware. kann i now use the following program? are there some problems? th...

Measurement Circuit in ASTM D257-07

Hello, i really don't unterstand the following test circuit from ASTM D257-07 (Page 14-15): Snip20140814_2.png Additionally there is the related description: Snip20140814_3.png Snip20140814_4.png The questions are: 1: Why is the voltage drop Vs displayed on Rf? 2: The D-C amplifier is too abstract t...

Re: Is 8009 a floating measurement circuit?

hello,

can I still do a floating measurement for the resistivity? Would I get a preciser Value with that method?
I've seen the principe scheme of test fixture from 6517A User's Manual:

I didn't see any connection between the guard plate and the safety chassis.

Is 8009 a floating measurement circuit?

Hello, Is 8009 a floating measurement circuit? I have seen the wiring schematic as follows: Snip20140705_18.png I think the U-Source from 6517A is insulated from earth. So with this arrangement the whole measurement circuit will be floating from earth, except that the box is connected to the earth b...

wavelike I-curve by low I measurement

i am measuring low I of insulators under 50 v. after 3 days i got this curve as follows: Snip20140702_1.png the current is in 100-pA range. LO connected with 'GND' it's wavelike and seems not going to stop. General it falls at night and arise at day, but it keep falling from day to day. i think i on...

Protection circuit

Hello, should we add a protection circuit before the ammeter, if I use 6517A with internal v-source to measure High-R ? (so as to protect the ammeter circuitry) The v-source work at a maximal level of 500 V. we did make the 6517A broken by measuring High-R (I think). The repair costed more than 200...

Guard on 8009 Chamber

Hello I have some basic questions about 8009: As I know, the Guard is: the ring electrode, if volume R will be measured; the top electrode, if surface R will be measured. 1: Does it mean, that the Guard in both cases above is the ‚noise shield’? 2: But the Guard is not an enclosure. Am I thoroughly ...

hello, how can I still buy the Model 6524 Software for my 6517A?

It seems I can't find it anywhere.

Re: background current and leakage current by high R

Thanks Dale ;) I have recently got a topic about H-R Measurement. And now i have another problem: Can I still use the 'Model 6524 Software' together with 'Model 6517A' ? (The functions of 6524 Software are perfect for my investigation and the 'Model 6517A' ist the available device in the lab.) I can...

background current and leakage current by high R

Hello KEITHLEY Folks, ;) as i know, we should use the ' alternating polarity method ' to null out the background current by measuring high R. On the other hand, there are some leakage currents from cable and test fixture. To eliminate such currents, we should use 'REL' to null them out. i have this ...
