Hi Dale,
I figured it out.
I have to send :INIT and then *TRG to remotely trigger the device.
Thanks for your help.
Best Regards,
Milos

Re: Triggering of 6482 using KI-488 Diagnostic Tool
I have tried both settings and none of them allowed me to send the trigger command.
It still reads the same error.

Re: Triggering of 6482 using KI-488 Diagnostic Tool
For some reason it still gives the same error -211. I have tried: :ABORT, it deactivates the ARM word on the screen (it's IDLE) :INIT, it activates the ARM word on the screen (out of IDLE) *TRG, gives me "-211 trigger ignored" message, when I press "Send" command on KI-488 Do you have an idea why th...

Re: Triggering of 6482 using KI-488 Diagnostic Tool
Hello Dale, All parameters of the trigger are preset manually on the front panel of the device. When I use *RST it resets the whole 6482 to the factory settings. I need the trigger settings to stay the same after each *TRG command since I am varying parameters on an electron gun as well in a separat...

Re: Model 6482 and triaxial cable
Thank you very much, this was a really big help.
I have one more question.
Does Keithley have 3 lug triax female to 2 lug bnc male adapter where outer shield is disconnected?

Re: Model 6482 and triaxial cable
We probably misunderstood each other.
On triax input there is Input HI (inner conductor), Input LO (inner shield), and Chassis ground (outer shield)
Voltage Source HI is Voltage Source Output (Banana Jack).
Where can I find Voltage Source LO line?
(I am using voltage source on 6482)

Thank you for your prompt response.
In Answer 3, you mentioned Voltage Source LO. Which connector is that?
Where should Chassis ground be connected?

Re: Transfer of data from model 6482 buffer to PC
Is there some Keithley software that can be used for that purpose? I am using KUSB-488B for data transfer.
If not can you tell me some good source which will help me create my own software (matlab or LabView)?

Re: Transfer of data from model 6482 buffer to PC
I managed to get the data copied. Now there is another problem. I have set the 6482 to record 500 values. After the completed measurement when I use TRACE to copy the data to computer it only copies first 357 points. I repeated the command but its always the same. Can this be fixed? I can see the va...

Re: Transfer of data from model 6482 buffer to PC
What values for addresses are needed to be set in order to transfer data from TRACE buffer to PC using KI-488 Diagnostic Tool and KUSB-488B? There is the address on 1) 6482, 2) Keithley Configuration Utility, 3) Initialize GPIB (on Diagnostic Tool), and 4) Instrument Address (on Diagnostic Tool). Wh...

Negative to positive TTL signal
Model 6482 is giving an negative TTL signal. What would I need to use to change that signal to positive TTL signal?
The device that I am trying to trigger can only accept following external signal parameters
Low 0V to +0.8V
High +3V to +5V
4ns or wider
1kOhm input impedance

Output Signal form 6482
Hello, I am trying to test the output of the trigger on 6482. I have used Model 8503 DIN to BNC trigger cable (VMC line) to connect 6482 to the oscilloscope. Apart from continuous signal of 5V I can't see any pulses leaving 6482. It might be that I have made a mistake in configuring trigger but I ca...
