Re: DMM7510 Power consumption

Hello, I just did some quick testing of the 7510's power draw using a PA1000. With the 7510 in factory conditions it was drawing roughly 39VA. Changing the measurement speed did not have any significant effect on the power draw. By setting the instrument's display to turn off using display.lightstat...

Re: Labview: possible interfaces, using 'examples'

RS232, USB, GPIB, and Ethernet all work with LabVIEW. The drivers that we supply are VISA based meaning that you could develop a program using USB communication but the same program will also work if you were using GPIB or Ethernet. The following link to National Instruments website gives some more ...

Re: Error -113 on Keithley 2401 Sourcemeter

The -113 error is a syntax error that comes from when you either add an incorrect space such as :SYST :ERR? (incorrect) vs :SYST:ERR?(correct) or if you're missing a necessary space such as :SENS:VOLT:DC:RANGl00 (incorrect) vs. :SENS:VOLT:DC:RANG 100 (correct). So somewhere in your code there is a c...

Re: read data from buffer into MATLAB

By default the instrument's buffer will contain the following parameters: voltage, current, resistance, time, and status. If you only want to record the voltage then you would want to use the :FORM:ELEM command to select the type of data to collect. For example :FORM:ELEM VOLT would only collect vol...

Re: Using Kickstart with two keithley 2450

Make sure that you have the TSP-link cable connected to the TSP port and not the LAN port. When you open kickstart check the instrument configuration tab and click on the 2450 resource name at the bottom it should show "TSP-Link Instruments" does it show a 0 or a 1? (see attached -) What version of ...

Re: 2450 connect with a photometer

The digital I/O port is not a communication port and as such the 2450 is not going to recognize a connected instrument.
The kickstart software does not support third-party instruments.

Re: Cannot get Kickstart to recognise 2401

Unfortunately there is no such software that supports the 2401 in windows 10. If you have access to labview then you can refer to the example VI's in the 24XX driver as there is an example that sweeps voltage/current and measure the resulting voltage/current.

Re: Can you set compliance on the force channel in 4 wire measurement?

Hi Gethn, The sense lines and the force lines are not fully independent from one another. Wherever you connect your force lines you must also connect your sense lines as that it measure the voltage at the point of contact on between your DUT and your force lines. The voltage limit that you set up on...

Re: Two DMM7510s making simultaneous measurements?

If you want to synchronize two DMM7510's together the simplest way is to trigger the instruments using TSP-Link. Attached are two .tsp files which set up each instrument for synchronizing measurements. Note this is a very basic application which has some variation between reading times however for t...

Re: Can you set compliance on the force channel in 4 wire measurement?

The limit that you set on the instrument will be the voltage limit for the force terminals. The sense terminals are simply measuring the voltage at the point of contact on your DUT rather than at the terminals of your instrument which gives a more accurate voltage reading as it eliminates any resist...

I just tried running two instances of kickstart while using one KUSB-488B interface and a GPIB cable to connect two 2700's together. Re: More than one K2700?

The kickstart software, similar to ExceLINX, can only record data from one 2700 per instance of the software.
If you have multiple 2700's you can open multiple kickstart instances and have each one connect to the different 2700s to collect data from them.

Re: 3700 with 3721 switching control

Channels 41 and 42 on the 3721 are hardwired to analog backplane 1 LO and the amp input which is directly connected to the DMM portion of the 3706.
If you want to use the card to switch currents then you can use the other 40 channels. Note that those channels have a 2Amp switching capability.

The 2701 can only take measurements from one channel at a time. You can measure both channels sequentially though.
