Re: Error 5032 when doing a linear sweep

Thanks Andrea, that worked! I commented the buffer creation and collecttimestamps, collectsourcevalues and appendmode from within the TojaSweepXlinMeasureY() functions and data was collected as expected. I guess the error 5032 was meaning that I couldn't assign a value to collecttimestamps, collects...

Error 5032 when doing a linear sweep

Hello, I'm using a 2612B SMU for doing research. I've written a script (see here or in the attached file) that allows me to decide when I'm in the lab in front of the SMU my experimental conditions. I need the script to let me: source V or i perform linear sweeps or pulsed sweeps sometimes perform t...

Re: Interfacing a 2612B SMU with an analytical scale through serial (RS-232)

Well, I finally got it working, so to help future people [0] (even myself, if backup system fails), I'll paste my code below. Some clarifications: The nPulses and nCycles variables are defined from user-input variables, and need to be integer numbers, because they are the number of times some action...

Re: Interfacing a 2612B SMU with an analytical scale through serial (RS-232)

So I finally figured out what is the problem with the strings sent to the scale. The strings were 'D "Hallo" \r\n' and "S \r\n" All I needed to do to get the scale to respond as I needed was to delete the space before the \r\n, because the scale doesn't expect you to hit a spacebar before you end yo...

Re: Interfacing a 2612B SMU with an analytical scale through serial (RS-232)

I was using a wrong serial cable, a "straight" serial cable, so the RX of the SMU was linked to the RX of the scale, and the same goes for TX. Now I get the correct serial number, when I turn on the scale and read the serial from the SMU. However, I could not make the scale receive commands from the...

Interfacing a 2612B SMU with an analytical scale through serial (RS-232)

I'm trying to get some data from a Mettler-Toledo through the RS-232 serial port. These scales have their own protocol (MT-SICS) of strings that have to be sent to receive responses. After disabling the RS-232 port from the front panel of the SMU, I can get some responses, but can't get to control i...

Re: Trouble creating a buffer (error -286)

Hi! I've tried with "smua.mybuffer1.appendmode = 1" and that didn't work. I upgraded the firmware, and poked around with my code. Finally, I got it working by creating the buffer with a one line script, and then switching to my script to do the pulse and data collection. Also, I had to change smua.m...

Re: Trouble creating a buffer (error -286)

Thanks Andrea for your comment. However, my initial problem about making a buffer still persists. Any idea on how to solve it? Any other error in my code (below you can see its actual state)? -- Restore Series 2600B defaults. smua.reset() -- Set compliance to 200 V. smua.source.limitv = 200 -- Crear...

Trouble creating a buffer (error -286)

Hi! I'm trying to runa script loaded from the USB drive (SMU model 2612B, firmware version 3.0.4), and I want to create a buffer to store more data points than those available on non-volatile buffers. However I can't get it working. The code I'm using is: -- Restore Series 2600B defaults. smua.reset...
