Re: 4-Wire Measurement Issues

4-Wire measurement of very low resistance this is prone to room temperature. DMM calibration for Zero Ohms (at input) this is made at 23C, In a cold room, zero Ohms CAL this gets negative Ohm values that Zero-Ohm math setting (offset compensation) cannot remove. For best results DUT temperature shou...

Re: Strange readings when measuring current.

For calibration comparisons if you do not own a proper manufactured short plug, any comparisons using DIY toys they are not considered as valid. This is a great way to protect yourself from questions. According my views, they are answers which I own nowadays, and they did not come from Google searc...

Re: Strange readings when measuring current.

For calibration comparisons if you do not own a proper manufactured short plug, any comparisons using DIY toys they are not considered as valid. But you can not be blamed when TEK it self, does not offer pricing and product information for their own 4X short plug, there is no photograph of it anywhe...

Re: DMM4050 Error 511

I am just an unordinary electrician, avoiding LabVIEW by choice. I was forced to do a fresh homework regarding NI software because of DMM4050 and now I am aware of these details: LabVIEW this is capable using a multimeter driver this not including graphical representation (GUI). Old SignalExpress 2....

Re: DMM4050 Error 511

Yes this is the only one ever made, and my notes above they are about it. Driver Specifications Manufacturer(s): Tektronix Interface(s): IEEE 488.2 (GPIB), Serial Instrument Type(s): Meter Driver Version: 1.0 Original Release Date: 05-OCT-2009 The new question this is why is so difficult for TEK ? s...

Re: DMM4050 Error 511

Hi David, Your link does redirect properly. Therefore feel free adding it again. I am using SignalExpress Tektronix Edition, which this is still usable at my WinXP Pro PC box which has loaded several paid software which this worth much more than the price of the operating system. Software EOL date t...

Re: DMM4050 Error 511

Hi David, The true hint and answer this is not noticeable or almost hidden at fine print of page 1-26 DMM4050 User manual. (Measurements rate chart IEEE448) Note number 4: Mention that DMM4040 & 4050 both are Baud Rate dependable regarding remote logging speed. I did unplug my fancy RS232 to Bluetoo...

Re: DMM4050 Error 511

I came also across this error and this tip above helped me to properly configure RS-232 to Bluetooth adapter 100m range. By permitting Flow control at paired modules the dmm stopped reporting such error. Everything now seems good at 9600 / Flow control RTS / 8 Bit , but when I am trying to use LabVI...

2019 DMM4050 Newest Firmware verification

I own one DMM4050 this is factory production of the year 2013 and made in USA.
And my question this is if TEK has in their hands any newer firmware version available than this illustrated at my attachment, Thanks.

Re: Reinstalling DMM4040's firmware

This thing will never initialize with out be repaired. All that I do know this is that at American university there was an accident and last year several of these meters they sold as is for 200$ lot (4 or 5 of them), and a smart ass selling them on eBay for 400$ its one. TEK flat rate repair this is...

Re: DMM4050 remotely power control

This is a very interesting question , enabling Power Save mode remotely, extending display life-cycle. I think that if SignalExpress does not support such function, then possibly now one bothered to implement such a command into it firmware. DMM4050 firmware never updated since 2011 and now we are i...

Re: ELXSDMMI.dll not closing

As first I am going to add a relative question. What are my chances for a successful simple data-logging scenario by using Windows XP RRO SP3 32bit + 2750 DMM + Small business office 2003, among with this Excel plug-in ? About answering the first question, I will say that with out defining if your M...

Re: keithly 2700 wrong voltage measurment

I would try to eliminate first all known issues.
a) Voltage spikes recorded due active auto-ranging.
b) Use of lower scan timing
c) Double check application bandwidth with measuring system specifications.
e) Health condition of individual scan card channel.

Re: Interface language of Kickstart 2.0.1

As long Kickstart 2.0.1 does not have support for 183 languages, it does not make sense staring an enhancement request, for base function which which was removed, so Kickstart software developers to make easy their own life.

I would never try insulation measurement of unknown material over another unknown material regarding it own insulation properties.

What you forgotten to mention this is if you are using SCPI mode ?
User Guide mentioning that full amount of control commands these are available at SCPI mode only.

Upload of latest firmware this it might also help.

Re: 'Wfm does not cross ref' message

I suppose that Wfm this is the sort version of the word : Waveform.

Therefore the message could be that : Waveform this does not cross reference points ... possibly because signal amplitude this is not enough or higher than what it is required for calibration.

Re: How to block 60 Hz siginal to scope.

I have a medical office call box/light system that is older probably 20 year old ...... The system uses a signal that is transmitted over the AC connection/plug. I am new to oscilloscopes but purchased one to see if I could observe if the signal is too weak in the new location. Any system uses a si...
