Re: Loss of graphing precision

Ok, replying to myself ... hopefully someone else is interested! I've taken some data and bucketed it into 300 buckets (storing min and max) and then used an excel bar chart (hiding the low part) to reproduce what the data should look like (assuming 300 pixels (or bars) to display it)... Screenshot ...

Loss of graphing precision

Firmware 1.7.0.e If you setup a graph to display all the data and then let it run for some time then clearly it needs to have some mechanism for consolidating a set of results into a single bar on the display. I would imagine that most systems would draw a bar from the lowest point in the range of v...

Autocalibration changes input impedance setting but doesn't always show it properly

First things first ... the manual ... can I leave the leads connected or not?? On page 3-44 of the manual: You can run auto calibration with input cables connected. At the start of the auto calibration process, the front terminals are monitored. If more than 30 V DC or 1 V AC is detected on the fron...

Reset doesn't properly reset RTD user settings and displays incorrect settings

On firmware 1.7.0e... If you have an RTD setup with user settings (in my case a 1000R zero value) since I'm using a PT1000) and then you reset the device, when you select 4RTD the user settings remain active despite the RTD screen showing "PT100", therefore the screen has defaulted back to PT100 but...

Re: Temp reading (PT1000) doesn't display properly.

Just as an update to this ... after a power cycle this isn't happening anymore. It seems that a sequence of settings got me into this situation, and even "reset" wouldn't fix it, but power cycling did. Unfortunately I can't reproduce it. I'll post a separate item about how "reset" isn't actually res...

Temp reading (PT1000) doesn't display properly.

After not having a lot of joy with my thermistor I switched to a four wire PTD1000. So... (a) this isn't included in the list of supported devices??? Why??? (b) when using "User" and inputting the alpha, beta, and delta values (and setting the zero to 1000R) the display reports "-DispNaN-" Again (as...

Re: Temp reading (thermistor) breaks with 1.7.0e

Thanks .. I hadn't realised this device was designed to measure the temperature of the surface of the sun! I've only had the thing two days and I've found about 8 bugs in the firmware already. I switched from a 34470a and whilst the feel and quality of the hardware seems better, the firmware is abso...

Temp reading (thermistor) breaks with 1.7.0e

Hi, I've just received my 7510, which came with 1.6.7d firmware. I've been doing some measurements with a 5k thermistor, and that was working fine. After upgrading to 1.7.0e the main reading is now displayed in kC which is really not helpful, with the default three decimal places that's only a 1 deg...
