Re: TekScope Utility Support

Hi Suyashlahoti, TekScope Utility will try it's best to gather the data once every second, but ultimately the maximum speed it can go depends on how quickly the scope you are using responds to commands and transfers data. I see in your screenshot that you are using a TBS 1154 and are transferring ha...

Re: TekScope Utility Bug Reports

Hi stjude1982, The Serial settings (Data Bits, Stop Bits, etc...) are only relevant to serial COM port connections (i.e. RS-232) so these do not affect USB connections. The message you saw, "The resource is valid, but VISA cannot currently access it.," is a VISA error and not a TekScope Utility erro...

Re: TekVISA C++ x86 vs x64: issue when reading waveform data

I would recommend against using viQueryf() for reading back the waveform data. I would recommend sending the CURVE? query command with viWrite() and reading back the data with viRead(). viRead() will place the waveform data directly into the byte array you pass to it. Also note that the data returne...

Re: Waveform Recall from CSV

Unfortunately this is a limitation of the software and you will need to break the file into two seperate CSV files, one for each channel. Since .CSV is plain text and can be opened in programs like Excel or Open Office / Libre Office Calc, it is not too difficult to do. Make a copy of the .CSV file ...

Re: C/C++, LabWindows/CVI - PWS4000 Source Voltage and Measure

So you are trying to log on screen measurement data?

Keep an eye out on my TekScope Utility. I have a release coming out that I think may be what you are looking for.

Re: TekScope Utility Support

No there is not. While the scope can fill up a 10M record length (about 10 MB of data, 8-bit per sample * 10M samples) in only 2ms, it can only offload that data to a PC at maybe 10-30 MB/s plus add in the overhead of fetching the scaling factors to turn that data into floating point voltage values ...

Re: TekScope Utility Support

Do you have the latest firmware on your scope? The DPO4K series has had several commands added to its command set since launch and TekScope Utility makes use of some of these commands. Make sure your firmware it up to date. If you still have timeout issues, can you capture an IO Trace and attach it ...

Re: TekScope Utility Support

Hmm... I will need to get in front of an MSO5 and checkout what you are seeing. Just to make sure I understand this correctly, are you using the scope with the colors set to inverted? If so, are you saying that the grid is perfectly visible when you are using the scope, but in the saved image the gr...

Re: Oscilloscope TDS1012B.Getting a waveform in C ++.

Hi Yaroslav, You might refer to the example C# NI-VISA Get Waveform . It's not C++, but C# syntax is very similar to C++ so it shouldn't be too difficult for you to follow and it will at least give you an idea of the commands you need to use to fetch the waveform and the methodology. Since you are i...

Re: TekScope Utility Support

OK, for series 5 MSO scopes the HARDCopy command will not return the screenshot data. To grab screenshots from the 5 Series you will want to use :SAVE:IMAGE <filename> to save the screenshot to the scope's hard drive, then query *OPC? so you know when it has finished. After that you will want to use...

Re: TekScope Utility Support

Hi gone4fishin. What model scope are you using and what interface. Timeout is usually a problem with transferring hard copies over RS-232 due to the slow data rates and large file size. TekScope Utility transfers hard copies over RS-232 by performing multiple reads in a loop until all bytes are read...

Re: Can I empty the fast frame memory continually to pc

No, continuous memory dumping to the PC is not possible. You will need to wait until all the frames are full and the acquisition stops, then you can transfer the data to the PC and start another acquisition. Fast Frame works by segmenting the high speed acquisition memory into Frames. Each time a tr...

Re: TEKVISA doesn't Detect RSA306

Hi tiktek. That is correct, you will see the device identified as SignalVu-PC as it is SignalVu-PC you are communicating with which in turn controls the RSA306 hardware. You will never see RSA306 identified in VISA.

There is now a new version of the utility available for download over at the TekScope Utility thread. https://forum.tek.com/vi...

Hi Vicentiu Neagoe,

In OpenChoice Instrument Manager you need to click the Search Criteria button and make sure that LAN and USB are turned on, else they won't show up in the list.

Re: TekScope Utility Bug Reports

Hi Lars, I was able to look into your TDS3000 hard copy transfer issue yesterday. On a TDS3054C the image transfer over Ethernet worked just fine. Then I noticed you were using a B model. I managed to find a TDS3054B and try it and I saw the same issue as you. Following the IO Trace I could see that...

Re: MDO4104-6 Waveform Data Transfer Speeds to PC

Hi, The speed issue has much less to do with the Ethernet adapter's speed and much more to do with the instrument's processor's speed. The CPU in the MDO4K isn't fast enough to saturate gigabit Ethernet. Currently, only the Windows based scopes (and scopes capable of running windows, a la MSO 5 and ...
