Re: Copy scripts through TSP Link

From the release notes, it appears this functionality is available on non-A versions of the 2600 family that have FW version 1.4 or newer. I would check to see if you are running 1.3.4 or older. If so, depending on your script you may wish to update to 1.4.2. However, there is a firmware decision gu...

Re: Labview program for 2651A

The channel A or B is just for 2 channel instruments like the 2602A, 2612A, or 2636A. The single channel units will always use SMU A or channel A in the commands.

Re: Can't add new virtual device (6487)

That older version of ExceLINX you have on the CD will not work on Win 7, though it should install fine on XP. Something must be corrupt in the system somewhere.

I will provide a newer version of ExceLINX-2A by email to you that should be Win 7 compliant.

Re: Connections of plug-in card 3730 ST

Note that the 3730 is a matrix card so it is very flexible for the connections. For my measurement (3730 in Slot 6), I had my Device Under Test, a 1kOhm resistor, between Hi and Lo on Column 3 and the Hi and Lo sense leads connected to Column 4. The Sense leads must connect to the backplane DMM Sens...

Re: Can't add new virtual device (6487)

What operating system are you using? In the Keithley Configuration Panel, if the wizard opens on start up, cancel out of it. Then at the top, there should be a View button, click that in there there should be an item called "By Drivers." Select that, and now just below view there should be a Drivers...

Re: Increasing scan speed

Mark, To increase speed, set your NPLC to 0.01 to start off. What cards are yo using? Depending on the model, with the function change between DCV and Temp, there will be a lag there so you won't reach the 65/s if that is the 7702 as that is a spec for only scanning voltages, so there is no function...

Re: Copy scripts through TSP Link

Are your SMUs 2612s or 2612As? I have found the TSP-Link script copy code in the 2600A Reference Manual, but not in the 2600 Reference Manual (for non-A models).

Could you attach your .xls workbook for your ExceLINX configuration? If not, do you see any cells that have red text in the Meter Config or Meter Scan sheets, notably in the Trigger area or elsewhere? What version of Windows and Excel are you using?

Re: How set the 8009 test fixture I use 500 to 1000 v

Gary, It defaults on the +/-100V source range. You must enable the +/- 1000V range. Push the Config button, then the OPER button. I believe there should be a range item in that menu. Hit enter and using the arrow keys, select +/- 1000V and hit enter. Exit out to the main screen and you should now ha...

Re: Pulse synchronization over parallel 2612

While the attached app note is specifically written to the 2651A, 99% of the code and algorithm is interchangeable here, especially with triggering. At this point, you would just add on a third SMU (from a second 2612A) to the same idea of timers/triggers/etc. Note that timers will not work across n...

Re: 6487 model as voltage source

Yuichiro,

Yes, you can operate the voltage source and measure current simultaneously. This is how the 6487 performs Resistance measurements. Also, unlike a SourceMeter, the 6487 voltage source is completely separate from the current measure capabilities, so one is not tied to the other.

Re: Pulse synchronization over parallel 2612

3 SMUs like that will be tricky, but before we even get into that, are these units Model 2612 or 2612A? The 2612s will be very difficult and the A versions will give us a fighting chance. However, any time you are connecting 3 SMUs in parallel like this, you need to take precautions as there is a po...

Re: 6487 Keithley Configuration panel

That is a very old I/O Layer on your system as well as an old IVI driver. If you are still having issues, I would suggest cleansing your system of old versions (instructions below) and then installing a new version of ExceLINX-2A. I can email you a link and instructions to do that as well. To Cleans...

Re: temperature measurement using RTD 4 wire probe

The Model 2000 only reads temperature using thermocouples. If you wish to use the 8693 RTD with a 2001, 2002, or 2010, the Model 8680 RTD Probe Adapter works with 4W RTDs like the model 8681, 8693, 8695, or 8696.

Re: 6514 and ExceLINX

You have to configure the triggering to be done how you want on the Meter Scan sheet. You can configure the Arm or Trigger layers here as to if they run immediate, are on timers or triggering off the bus, triggerlink, etc. I set mine to run off the timer to do 4 total cycles with a 1 second timer. T...

I believe the issue to be your version of ExceLINX and Win 7 64 bit. The next step should be to cleanse your system following the attached document. I will send over a different version of ExceLINX-1A via e-mail as the file is too large to be on the Forum.

Brie, The +618 error is Resistivity: I OutOfLimit. When the light is flashing, the Voltage source is outputting the maximum current for the Vsource's range. The source can output up to +/- 1mA on the 1000V range or up to +/- 10mA on the 100V range. They are actively current limited to <1.15mA and <1...

Suren,

Unfortunately, the DAS-1800 is obsolete so our - support seems to be all we could really provide on this product. I can ask one of our Field engineers about this, but she is on vacation for a few weeks. She would be the only person I know that may be able to help us on this.

The three numbers are the reading with Units, Timestamp, and Status. For status, 0 means no errors. The timestamp is relative or absolute, that is up to you. The measurement you're showing is -54.2fA which is very near 0. Your offset error accuracy depends on the measurement range used. Technically,...

Re: 6517 Multiple Channels

We do not have a 2 channel instrument like the 6517B. However, you can get a 6517B and a 6522 Voltage/Low Current scanner card that goes in the option slot of the 6517B. This will allow you to scan through 10 channels of voltage and current readings. At that point, you can use the Math function or d...
