Re: How can I use 2450 for realtime Resistance measurement (R_T Curve)?

The front panel is real-time. You can swipe the screen left and right to see a graph and see cumulative statistics.

Press the menu button and then press the graph button to configure settings for graph (Scale) axes. For X-axis I use "All" and for Y-axis I use "SmartScale".

Can you run Wireshark to find out what series of commands are causing your DMM7510 to lock up?

Re: DMM7510, SMU 2450 & 2460 problems

No problems so far. In addition to the static IP address, I recommend that you find a clean install of Windows with no installation of other VISA etc, and install the Keithley I/O layer. My guess is that you have a Windows problem and/or an I/O layer problem. The locking up of the DMM7510 is a separ...

Re: DMM7510, SMU 2450 & 2460 problems

Are we talking about different problems here? I have the feeling that at the porting of the OS something went wrong for the dialog "local" at the touch screen models. Our 2281S always shows a softkey with "local" which works fine. For the DMM7510, I guess, that sometimes the "local" dialog is someh...

Re: DMM7510, SMU 2450 & 2460 problems

I demonstrate many different Keithley boxes to customers regularly. My experience is that making the box have a static IP address is the most satisfactory configuration.

Re: DMM7510, SMU 2450 & 2460 problems

Have a look at MENU-> COMMUNICATION->TCP/IP MODE

Are you using Manual or Automatic?

I have found on my laptop, that in Automatic mode, the DMM7510 often changes the IP address. This causes the web page to stop working. I have switched to using Manual Mode.

Re: DMM7510, SMU 2450 & 2460 problems

Hello Klaas I am using Kickstart 1.9.5. The connection is GPIB from the PC using a Keithley KUSB-488B. This uses the Keithley I/O software layer. I set up a test to measure DC current with NPLC 5 and 500 sample points. During the graphing of the test points I was able to press the front panel button...

Hello Klaas My apologies if my reply sounded patronizing. There was no intention to be patronizing. My only goal is to get to the root of your problem. If there is a button press sequence that causes a blue screen with the latest firmware, we will find the problem and fix it. The first requirement i...

Re: Keithley 6517 reading rate question

The inverse of the integration time is not the limiting factor for how many readings per second can be stored.

There are other factors involved in why the data storage rate is as specified. The data sheet should be used to plan how many readings you can achieve in one second.

Re: DMM7510, SMU 2450 & 2460 problems

Hi, I just received my new DMM7510 already with 1.6.3d. After a 4 hours working period I got several blue screens. I can recall one particular scenario: - Kickstarter was used over Lan - Doing DC current measurements (low power DUT) - The screens shows dialog "would you like local no/yes" - Screen ...

Re: contact potential of 7012-S card

Thank you Brian! Since you mentioned "Delta mode", I find some infomation about it on internet, "This current reversal technique cancels out any constant thermoelectric offsets, ensuring the results reflect the true value of the voltage." So delta mode can cancel constant offsets. I am not very fam...

Here is the pertinent excerpt from the datasheet CONTACT POTENTIAL: 7012-C: <1μV per channel contact pair 7012-S: <500nV per channel contact pair <3μV typical per single contact. <1.5μV typical per single contact. It looks like less contact offset using HI/LO pairs than individual HI contacts. Using...

Re: Keithley 3706 No front panel display

There may be a loose connector from the main board to the front panel. You can open the case and try to find the connector that powers the front panel to determine if that is the problem. If you cannot correct the problem this way, the 3706 will have to be sent for repair. To troubleshoot the Labvie...

Try to press the OUTPUT button at least once. You many have to press up to three times to stop the script and have the output off.

Re: Measuring more than 10k values over time

A simple software loop will not be exactly synchronous to any clock. The trigger model is designed to be used when synchronous behavior is required. If you want to have exactly 1 sec increments, I believe that you would need to use the trigger model.

Re: Dual 2182a to single 6221 Delta-mode

The built in functions for the delta mode system are not more accurate than treating the 6221 and 2182A as separate instruments. For qty 2 of the 2182A, you will not be able to use the built-in functions unless you create a way to switch the RS232 connection between the instruments. Even if you did,...

Re: Sweeping Voltage and measureing Current using two Keithleys

If you want to take multiple measurements simultaneously, you will be required to use the trigger model. The connection from 26XXB #1 to 26XXB #2 must be via the trigger link ports. The yellow crossover Ethernet cable is included with both 26XXB instruments when they are shipped. You should have two...

Re: Sweeping Voltage and measureing Current using two Keithleys

Hello Alberto We do not have a script that will do exactly what you want. This script should require no more than one afternoon to write and debug even if you are not experienced with writing 2600 scripts. The task for all SMU channels is identical; force voltage and measure current. Here is how I w...
