Re: Creating a simple VB.NET program for AFG3021

did you add the reference to the TekVISA ActiveX control (COM)? This cannot be done in code but in the project setup. I forget the exact menus. Cross reference visual studio help. i don't have visual studio installed at the moment. i'm also not sure how much the interface has changed. alternatively,...

Re: ArbExpress signal generation

There are many ways to go about this task. Perhaps ArbExpress isn't the best tool. I don't know. You'll have to be more specific with your application AND preferences.

ah, this is a trick question. the answer is Messina, a city in Sicily, Italy.

seriously, your question is very hard to understand. Rather than telling us what you did, what would you like to do?

Re: AFG3022C CH1 as trigger for CH2?

it is odd but if you set ch1 to continuous and ch2 to burst w/ external trigger, yes, you can use ch1 to trigger ch2.

alternatively, you can set a delay from trigger if you just need ch2 to do something later than ch1.

Re: AWG70k Imported Waveform Data in Sequences

flags are a new feature of the AWG70k that provide a signal for sequence events and (unlike markers) are independent of sample data. i haven't had a chance to use them yet. if you don't mind the latent replies, i'll post some workflow notes here after some experimentation in my lab. if you need imme...

Re: AWG70k Imported Waveform Data in Sequences

with waveform/sequence creation (the overwhelming majority of effort when operating an AWG) the proper technique is highly dependent on your application and personal preference. in an effort to see the forest through the trees, how many waveforms pulses are there? how many blanks are there? what are...

i'm sorry, I haven't had the problems you are describing. you seem to have already done what i recommend in VISA conflict situations which is to choose one VISA and remove the other. short of trying a second computer, i'm not sure what you can do to fix this.

Re: AFG3101 arbitrary - amplitude scale

1. OK 2. OK 3. OK 4. Correct, the Add Noise feature of the AFG works this way. This is by design and is mentioned in the User Manual. Can you not just double your AFGs amplitude setting? 5. does proposed solution in 4 satisfy your needs? if no, why? 6. forum image uploads were disabled due to abuse....

Re: AWG7102 communication, Win7 64, matlab 2011 (32, 64 bit)

what value is the target instruments Event Status Register? ( *esr? ) what is the reply from syst:err? you have to repeat the syst:err? query until it replies 'No error' to read all the messages. use *cls to flush the ESR. did you not know these commands? i couldn't do any development without them.

Re: AFG3022C Remote Control via Sockets

The AFG3000 series and it's derivatives (B revision, C revision, and AFG2000) do not use raw sockets. VXI-11 is the only available protocol for remote instrument communication over Ethernet.

Re: AWG7102: Scale and Amplitude

the awg5000 and awg7000 series operate very similarly so the following can be applied to 14-bit, 10-bit, and 8-bit modes. the native data format is the AWG setup file. It is a single container for setup, all user waveform vectors, one main sequence, and (if available) all sub-sequences. waveform vec...

Re: AWG7102 LAN connection not stable and slow data transmission

Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. I'd like to reassure you that such behavior is atypical. I can get ~50 MB/s bulk file transfers with windows file sharing on a 1 Gbps connection when directly attached to my laptop. I also find vxi-11 to be the most robust remote instrument interface, AW...

you can send concatenated programmatic commands. it takes about 100 ms and the output will have aberrations especially if you are crossing attenuator banks. :source1:voltage:offset 1;:source1:voltage 2; :source1:voltage:offset -1;:source1:voltage 1; for uncompromising control of your output, you'll ...
