Re: hide/unhide label text for a channel with command in DPO3054

You can blank the channel label using a pair of double quotes as the string:

CH1:LABEL ""
will blank out the label assigned to CH1.

Re: Tek492 blank CRT. Please help

The first thing to check would be all of the power supply voltages. Common failure modes for this vintage of equipment are failed electrolytic or tantalum caps - of course when they fail, other devices can be victims.

Re: DPO4054B Runt trigger for power glitch

A few things to check.. I believe that the Trigger indicator in this case is going to indicate the *end* of the >700ns duration. Because any level based trigger will have some hysteresis around it, it is possible that the rising voltage at the Trigger point is the point that is >700ns after the init...

Re: Query the RSA306 and return what mode is active?

Unlike conventional spectrum analyzers, the RSA products do not really have different operating modes. The various measurements (spectrum measurements, RF measurements like Channel Power, real-time spectrum, modulation measurements like constellation or EVM) are not different *modes*, they are simpl...

If the fan is of a type that you can take it apart, the bearings are likely a standard size that can be found a McMaster-Carr, etc.

Re: MSO4104 Save waveform to network

Mounting of Network Drives is supported on the DPO/MSO4104B (B-series) instruments. If your scope is not a "B" model, then it doesn't support mounting a network drive.

Re: TimeVIEW FCA3100 time interval measurements

Hello, I want to know if I can use the FCA3100 to measure the time interval between a start pulse at A and a stop pulse at B. I've been reading over the manuals etc. and I am unsure about what it can do. It looks like the device has the resolution I need, I would need approximately 1ns resolution,t...

Re: 1502 Parts Reference

According to the cross-reference found here:
http://www.sphere.bc.ca/test/tek-parts/tekparts2.html

It lists that transistor as a general purpose 2N2222A in a TO-18 package.

Re: Z input standards

It depends a little on the scope you have. A positive voltage will cause dimming of the trace, but the sensitivity is a bit scope dependent. Usually, there is something printed on the back panel next to the Z input connector. I checked a couple of scopes and here's what I found. On my 465B, the manu...

Re: RSA3408A I/Q Capture

The IQ signals that are captured and stored in the RSA3408 are base-banded to the Center Frequency that you have set on the unit. Thus, if the center frequency is set to 100MHz, and the input signal is 100MHz, then the IQ signals will indeed be ideally DC values - because the magnitudes of the I and...

Thanks for your reply!
That is correct. However, the ANALYSIS bandwidth can be set to 30MHz, even though the acquisition BW in that case would be 40MHz.

Re: Trying to control two RSA's simultaneously

Another possible option, depending on your application, is to trigger both RSAs simultaneously. You could connect both RSAs to a common external trigger source. Therefore even though you can't necessarily instruct the RSAs to do something programmatically at the same time, a common external trigger ...

Re: Termination voltage versus offset

I am certain that the new front-end of the 70000D scopes include the ability to change the voltage that the 50ohm terminates into. Thus, if your device needs to see a 50ohm to -2V load (for ECL for example), then you can do this. I agree - it is a very nice feature. This termination offset voltage i...

Thanks. I made the mistake of assuming that the "latest version" shown at the top of the download page was all they had. I found the version for 32b XP in the list and installed it. Thanks.

Re: Python Example: Eye Diagram

The code shows that you are using Python 2.7, and using numpy (required by MatPlotLib). However, the numpy site only has a download for Python 2.6, and it doesn't install if it doesn't find 2.6. Can you tell me how you got this configuration working?

You can find the latest firmware for this unit at: http://www2.tek.com/cmswpt/swdetails.lotr?ct=SW&cs=Application&ci=17297&lc=EN&from=rss To export to .MAT after acquiring the data, simply change to either the DEM...

Re: Programming the WCA230A

Hi Alicia, At this time, there isn't a specific SCPI command to change the vertical units to uV. As you know, you can change this from the front panel /UI. The only option at this time to set this up programmatically would be to load a State file that has this unit selected. You can then load the St...
