Re: Where is the FFT done?

It is the latter. The FFT is performed in the computer/DLL using the sampled data from the RSA via USB.

Not directly, but you certainly can use markers on the Frequency vs. Time waveform rather than a ruler.

Re: RSA 6100A Calibration Correction Table

Rich, We were able to verify that the CAL version of the command doesn't work on the RSA6100A even though it does work on the B series. I have been able to verify that the INPut version of the command works properly and does the same thing as the CAL version of the command on the B series. So, it's ...

Re: How to block 60 Hz siginal to scope.

While I don't know anything specific about this system and what it's signals look like, it appears that the 2700uF inductors are intended to isolate the main power panel from the control system by raising the impedance seen looking from the control units to the panel, at the operating frequency. Thi...

Re: I have a question?

This measurement is an ideal application for the RSA. I have a link to a video that should get you started. The video was made with a different model RSA, but it does illustrate how to setup the RSA to trigger and capture a time-domain event, and then add the desired analysis displays and analysis d...

Re: Calibration Constant file error

Unfortunately, it looks like we're going to need a little more information. Can you provide us with the Windows Event Log for your PC? This should be able to tell our engineers where the problem lies. Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer Then go to Windows Logs > Application ...and yo...

Please close the error dialog box, then open Help > About, and copy the contents of this display by clicking on the Copy Info button. Then paste the results here, such as: Tektronix Real Time Signal Analyzer SignalVu-PC V3.12.0037 Installed Options: SignalVu Demo (SignalVu-PCDEMO) Essentials (Signal...

Re: Calibration Constant file error

Can you connect your instrument to the PC, and then post the contents of what you see in the Help > About dialog box? That will help with diagnosing the problem.

Re: Measurements on DPO2014B

Yes, it is the left-most pulse in your image.

The orange inverse-video letter "T" in the center of the graticule along the top edge, shows you the trigger location in time. The trigger level is shown by the blue arrow along the right edge of the screen.

Re: MDO3104 - Simultaneous RF and Bus decoding

Simultaneous (and time correlated) RF and time domain is a feature of the MDO4000 series, but unfortunately is not possible with the MDO3000.

Since your unit has 1GHz of bandwidth, you may be able to view your suspected RF issues on one of the analog channels while decoding the RS485.

Re: SCPI Programming Without Tek-VISA

You can use any VISA, it doesn't have to be TekVISA. So, if you've already got another VISA installed, you should be able to communicate with SignalVu-PC through that. There are a few ways to do programmatic control. One is to use SCPI commands with SignalVu-PC. This gives you full access to all of ...

Re: Python 3 RSA/SignalVu Digital Demodulation

The API does not support the higher level analysis functions like modulation analysis, EVM measurements, etc. These measurements are performed in SignalVu-PC. SignalVu-PC can be programmatically controlled/queried in order to obtain these results.

The trigger position in time is indicated in the Time Ovrview. It is shown along the bottom of the graphic as a small red "T". If you're using the RF Power trigger, the level is shown as a horizontal blue line in Time Overview.

There is a nice blog posting that describes the spectrum trace processing that occurs in the RSA. It can be found here: http://www.tek.com/blog/spectrum-trace-processing-rsa In a nutshell - the Detector affects how the acquired samples are processed into spectrum trace points. The trace Function ref...
