Re: 707 external trigger with 2400

The Model 707 uses BNC type connections for the input and output triggers. The Model 2400 uses trigger link (TLINK) connections for the input and output triggers. The trigger signal level, duration and edge are all the same for each product. The Model 8503 is a Trigger Link(TLINK) to BNC cable. It h...

Re: 2701 data acquisition meter with 20 channel input card

Here is a simple command sequence to scan 10 channels of resistance. TRAC:CLE ' Clear buffer. INIT:CONT OFF ' Disable continuous initiation. TRIG:SOUR IMM ' Select the immediate control source. SENSE:FUNC 'RES' (@101:110) ' Set all channels to resistance function TRIG:COUN 1 ' Set to perform one sca...

Re: 2000 DMM - VB Code Exampels needed

All known example programs are on the Keithley web site. There are some VB examples but may not do exactly what is required. Think of them as building blocks to start your program. Getting data from the 2000 or 2400 buffer normally uses the :TRACE SCPI commands. Dealing with binary uses the FORMAT:D...

Re: GPIB Control: 2410 Custom Sweep-Source Memory with Linea

The source memory sweep is limited to 100 points. The linear sweep is up to 2500 points. There is no way that I know of to combine the two types of sweeps. The branching is a powerful feature that allows the source memory sweep to branch to another point in the source memory sweep instead of the lin...

Re: 2611 oscillations

The series resistance is always a good idea to reduce the oscillating effect. This sounds like the Model 2611 has a tolerance issue to the large capacitance of the load. The Model 2611A has a high capacitance mode. This mode allows up to 50uF of load capacitance. The bandwidth is reduced but the out...

Re: 26xx Timeout expired before operation completed

This is a Labview time out error(-1073807339). There can be one of several causes. 1. The Model 26XX did not respond with a measurement. Which means to check the unit to see if it is triggered. 2. VISA cannot find the instrument. Do a lower level VISA write and read sequence to see if VISA can find ...

Re: 2612A - High Current Measurement

Each channel of the Model 2612A is capable of 10A pulses, no more. So two in parallel would yield up to 20A. It would take two Model 2612As with each channel in parallel to achieve 40A. This is not even up to the required 50V. This would be up to 5V on the 10A range. At this time Keithley has nothin...

Re: 2400 triggering

To place the Model 2400 series Source Meter into continuous trigger just set the ARM layer parameters as follows.
1. ARM COUNT = INF
2. ARM SOURCE IMM
Now just enable the output.
That should keep the the Model 2400 in the continuous mode of trigger/readings.

Re: use Model 2635A to do four-point-probe measurement

The Model 2635A can be used to make a four point probe measurement. Usually four point probe measurements are made Sourcing Voltage and Measuring Current. In the remote sense mode the Model 2635A can source current and measure voltage on four separate leads. The connection configuration for a four p...

Re: Internal Reference Material for resistivity measurements

There is no standard resistivity reference material. The part # 8009-317B is not a measuring sample, but a part inserted between electrodes to protect them during shipping. The 8009-317B's purpose is to secure the unit during shipment or transport. The material is not controlled and information on t...

Re: Keithley 2700 with 7700 Switching modules

The Model 2700, 2701 and 2750 Integra series DMMs have the capability to control all the relays on the switching modules. The key to this control is the MULTIPLE command. :ROUTE:MULTIPLE:CLOSE (@101,110, 113) This command would close all three channels simultaneously. The only way to be sure the cha...

Re: Thermocouple measurements with 2182

1. The Model 2182A has two channels. Each are designed specifically for low voltage measurements. Also the channels can be used to make Temperature measurements using Thermocouples. The supported types are as follows J, K, N, T, E, R, S and B. 2. It is already calibrated for Thermocouple measurement...

Re: Software package for solar cell testing

Labtracer2 is a good basic program to control the Model 2400 series products for Step, Sweep actions. Solar cell testing normally requires sweeping of voltage/current. Labtracer2 only works with GPIB. It is a free download from the Keithley Web site. Here is the link. http://www.keithley.com/support...

Re: Right instrument for resistivity measurements

The Model 2750, 2010 and 3706 are the best single units to use with the 5805 probe. These units are all DMMs that have low resistance measurement capability. All other DMMS will work with the 5805 probes. But these units are designed specifically for low resistance measurements. The Model 3706 would...
