Labview 2420 and 2420 C

Post by labviewboy » January 11th, 2011, 1:14 pm

I made a program using Labview which works well on the 2420. Now, I bought a new 2420C, can I just use that labview program for the 2420C directly?
Acturally, I tried several times. It seems like the 2420C can be not recognized by the program even 2420 and 2420C have the same instrument address.
Any one can tell me why and how to solve this program?

Thanks!

The only difference between the 2420 and the 2420-C is the contact check function on the 2420-C.
Everything else is the same. So all the code for a 2420 should work with a 2420-C.
Sounds like you are having a communication issue.
Are you using GPIB or RS-232. From reading your post It sounds like GPIB.
Are you certain the 2420-C is set for GPIB and the same primary address as the 2420?
If these are ok, then are you using the same GPIB cable? One that is know to be good?

Thanks for reply!
I'm using a IEEE-488/GPIB Interface.
There are only two usbinterface: kusb 488a and kusb 488b.
I'm not sure which one I used before. Currently I'm using kusb 488 b.
Is there is a big difference between them?

Thanks!

Yes.
The main difference is when you install the driver it will prompt for NI or Keithley compatibility.
If you work with Labview, then with the KUSB-488B use the NI compatibility.
