Remote LOG Sweep on 2410 not correct

Post by sebgus » June 30th, 2011, 8:13 am

Hi!

I am trying to follow an example from the Users Manual for the 2410, but the sweep ends up really strange.

Here are my remote GPIB commands:

:SENS:FUNC:CONC OFF
:SOUR:FUNC VOLT
:SENS:FUNC 'CURR:DC'
:SENS:CURR:PROT 0.02
:SOUR:VOLT:STAR 1
:SOUR:VOLT:STOP 10
:SOUR:VOLT:STEP 0.25
:SOUR:VOLT:MODE SWE
:SOUR:SWE:RANG AUTO
:SOUR:SWE:SPAC LOG
:TRIG:COUN 5
:SOUR:DEL 0
:OUTP:STAT ON
:READ?

On page 189 in the users manual (Sweep Operation 10-5) it says it would source the following voltage levels:
1
1.7783
3.1623
5.6234
10

But my measured values are:
1
1.06605
1.13645
1.21155
1.2915

Is there something wrong with my GPIB code?

Thanks!

I calculated the step size as:

(log10(stop) – log10(start))/(Points - 1) = {in my case} = (1-0)/(5-1) = 0.25

If I remove the stepsize-gpib command it produces the same Source levels as the user manual, but if I increase the points, eg double it to 10, it sweeps twice over the same voltage levels. If I triple the amount of points it sweeps three times and so on..

Can't figure it out!

Found the problem, had to add the following line after :SOUR:SWE:SPAC LOG:

:SOUR:SWE:POIN 5

For it to sweep 5 points. Problem solved!
