2440 Contact Check

Post by hxs4747 » July 1st, 2011, 1:07 pm

When the meter does the contact check, can it tell us which two terminals are not properly contacted instead of just telling us the there is a bad contact?

The Contact Check feature in the 24xx-C models does not have a means to indicate which side (HI or LO or both) is exceeding the contact resistance threshold.

Just for FYI, the 2600A series all have contact check as a standard feature and the smua.contact.r() instrument command returns two values: measured resistance on HI side and LO side. So you would be able to determine which terminals are at fault.
