Bias voltage using Lab tracer2.0

Post by skysdj77 » July 29th, 2011, 1:16 am

Hi I am using 2400 Sourecemeter and 2000 Multimeter

Recently I am trying to apply external voltge to cell(2400 Sourcemeter) and to measure voltge of cell(2000multimeter).

To do that , 2400 Soucemeter, 2000DMM and cell are connected as parallel circuit.

I am using labtracer 2.0 to remote 2400 and the mode is Bias Voltage.

After I check Measure Current button in Measure tab of Labtracer2.0 channel setup, if I apply 0.5V to the cell, the measured voltage value in 2000 DMM is 0.5V. If applied voltage is larger than 0.5V, the measured voltage is the same value which is applied.

However if I do not check Measure Current button, above values are changed. If applied 0.5V, the measured voltage is 0.3V. Although applied voltage is larger than 0.5V, the measured voltage is maintained 0.3V.

Is there any difference thing if I check Measure Current button in Measure tab of Labtracer2.0 channel setup on Bias Voltage mode or not?
Is it possible to apply external voltgae from 2400 without checking Measure Current button and measure voltage of the cell by using 2000DMM simultaneously?

Please reply the answers.

Thanks

Labtracer seems to need to measure something, either voltage, current or timestamp.
If any of these are enabled then the voltge is 0.5V.
I believe it is the source meter. After all that is the name of the instrument.
It has to Source , Delay and then Measure.
You can disable the delay by setting it to zero.
You can turn off the measurements with :SENSE:FUNC:OFF VOLT,CURR,RES.
But the program seems to need the measurement to complete the action.
