2440 Idle Time

We have a Keithley 2440 source meter. If the unit is on and warmed up, but the leads are off (the unit is idle and is not applying power or sensing), how long can the unit be left on without needing to worry about a loss of accuracy or incurring wear.

Obviously the unit should be shut-down whenever possible, but we are curious about this idle-state.

Thanks, I know it's an unusual question.

I leave my 2400 powered up for weeks at time. And have neve noticed any issues.
This unit, the 2440 should be the same.
They are designed to operate for one year until the one year calibration cycle is passed.
Even then it will still operate, just not be in calibration.
But you could leave it powered on and in "idle" indefinitely.

Excellent. I thought this would be the case, but it's good to have it confirmed. Thanks Dale!
