communicate in VB.NET to the USB port

Post by BiggyD » January 12th, 2018, 3:18 pm

How do I initiate and communicate in VB.NET to the USB port on the back of the 2600 unit?
Imports NationalInstruments.Visa
Imports NationalInstruments.VisaNS

open("USB0::0x0699::0x0408::C011373::INSTR")
write("USB0::0x0699::0x0408::C011373::INSTR", gimmeyourID?)
read("USB0::0x0699::0x0408::C011373::INSTR",onekilobyte, putithere.text)
close("USB0::0x0699::0x0408::C011373::INSTR")

I don't get it. Is this really so hard to do? This should be simple, but every where I go everybody wants to turn it into a rocket project.

Excellent!! Thank you. Yes that works.
I couldn't find anything like this in the 2600 manual. If it's not in there, buried somewhere in those 800 pages, it should be.

BTW... You don't even need a button. Just put it "Form_Load" and hit run and you'll see the results in the label box. Simple.

As Gomer Pyle use to say:
Thank you, thank you, thank you,

Dave
