Problem of 2182A

Post by manyeelai » November 1st, 2011, 7:55 am

Hi,
We have problem for using 2182A. We turned on the 2182A and using the 10V range,
the reading will change from 0V to around - 11.7V gradually When the input is open circuit.
We did not find this issue when this meter arrived.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Hi,

What you described is a normal phenomenon, if the circuit is open, there is still some background noise in the instrument, besides, the internal circuit will continously amplify the noise so maybe the result is as you saw. But it will not influnce the reading if you cennect the DUT to the instrument.

Best Regards,
Catherine
