Labview help for 2651A

Post by riieee » August 20th, 2012, 6:17 am

I am new to this hardware and labview.
Learning labview currently and want to make a labview program. 2651A output voltage will be sweep in predetermined steps and current will be read at each voltage point.

And these are my questions:
1) Are there any differences in controlling 2651A using labview via these interfaces: GPIB, Serial, Ethernet? Would probably be using serial or ethernet
2) Any labview guides for 2600 series sourcemeter?

Thank you!

If not already done, download and install the LV Instrument Driver:

http://www.keithley.com/support/keidoc_ ... are+Driver

There are a couple example programs contained therein.

As for the serial, ethernet or GPIB, the Instrument Driver makes uses of VISA to communicate across the bus to an instrument. Just the resource name will change based upon the communication bus type and/or address of the instrument. For example GPIB0::26::INSTR if using GPIB at address 26 or ASRL1::INSTR for COM1 or TCPIP0:: for the given IP address.
