Checking correct operation of SMU

Post by TRF817 » August 14th, 2013, 3:01 pm

Hello,

we have several 2657A, we would like to know if there are any tests we can run before getting critical data to make sure the SMU is working properly. We typically use the 2657A to capture DC IV characteristics in the +/- 2000 V and +/- 5 mA range, we care about current resolution of 50 nA or better. Is a good test to capture DC IV characteristics of a precision high voltage resistor? Do you sell any equipment that checks 2657A SMUs?

Hi TRF817,

The reference manual for the 2657A contains performance verification procedures. Please refer to Appendix B-1 of the 2657A SMU Reference manual:

You will have to register at www.Keithley.com if you haven't done so already. It is free to do so.
