9174-HSMI and 9174-HSM switch matrix cards are used in sensitive (low-current) S400 series systems.

The 9174-HSMI card is an Instrument/Diag card. There would be only ONE of these in your switch frame, and it is the FIRST (from right to left) instrument switch matrix card. It has the system GND reference and also has unique functionality required for the system diagnostic tests.

The 9174-HSM card is used for all remaining switch matrix cards. 9174-HSM cards are used for PCA pins as well as any additional instruments beyond those which will fit on the 9174-HSMI card.
