Error: contact check fail

Post by Andrea C » December 31st, 2020, 7:28 am

When executing an ITM, if you experience an error for contact check fail, it is an indication that your remote sense lines are not connected. The error messages will include the Rhi and RLo measured values. These represent the measured ohms between the HI and Sense HI (Rhi) and between LO and Sense LO (RLo).

If you intend to use the remote sense lines (four wire connections), then the contact check fail issue should be resolved by correcting the connections.

If you do not need to use the remote sense lines, then to operate the SMU in two-wire mode, set the Sense Mode at device level to Local.

When it is set to default, it makes use of the settings in the Tools>Preferences (Misc tab).
