Incorrect serial number stored in 2510

We have a 2510 TEC Sourcemeter which reports question marks for its serial number when sent a *IDN? query. How can we set the unit to report the correct serial number?

I would recommend to send your unit to Keithley service (contact your local representative) as for obvious reasons commands for changing
a serial number are not published in the instrument's manuals.

If your instrument is out of warranty and operates fine you might ask if this could be e.g. arranged while you send the instrument
in for calibration.

For quality issues please note when this problem happend when sending the unit for service.
