2281S-20-6 Measuring voltage/current in battery charge mode

Post by dmcneill » October 4th, 2018, 1:27 pm

I would like to record the voltage and current over an entire battery charging cycle - it takes about 85 minutes, so sample every 2 seconds say to fill up the 2500 point buffer.
I can't see how to do this directly from the instrument front panel, so I am trying to do this through SCPI commands.
After reset, I issue the commands:

:ENTRY:FUNCTION TEST to put it in
:BATT:TEST:VOLT 3.5
:BATT:TEST:CURR:END 0.01

which seems to work ok. Then, I want to set up the trigger such that whenever I send the *TRG command, it will make a measurement and put the result in the buffer. But when I send the command:

:ARM:SOURCE BUS

I get an error message that this command is not allowed in this mode - in fact, it seems to only work in the POWer mode. Any help or pointers would be appreciated. Thank you,
David
