Setting Trigger in Labview for GPIB-connected 2000

Post by kzeppenfeld » February 3rd, 2014, 3:16 pm

I am trying to use a Kiethley 2000 DMM, connected by GPIB->USB, to measure a voltage and output the data to a file. As far as I can tell everything is working as expected, with the exception of the time step for the trigger. Each output file has a different time step used, and within each file the time step is never consistent. I right now have the configure trigger.vi to set the trigger to a timer, with a set time delay, but that does not seem to have any effect. I would like to take a measurement every 0.05s or so. I should add that I am very new to LabView, and the use of the Kiethley in general. I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.

Can you post your VI?
Maybe with that I can offer some suggestions.

Hi, did you solve your problem of inconsistent triggering of the KE2000?
I am having the same problem...
My sample rate is 1 sample per second, and it seems like the measurements are not consistent, it could vary from 0.98sec to 1.2sec.
I'll appreciate any help or comments.

Hi, I am facing the same problem, the time step between sampling is not the same and I want to use external trigger on Keithley, were you able to get it work?
