R type thermocouple with DMM 2010 and 2001-TCSCAN

Post by tamsystech » December 19th, 2016, 1:39 am

I'm using 2010 and 2001-TCSCAN for temperature measurement. According to user manul, 2001-TCSCAN supports R type thermocouple but DMM 2010 looks like support J, N, T, K only. Is there any way to use R type thermocouple with 2010 and 2001-TCSCAN setup?
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Since the 2010 DMM does not directly support the R type thermocouple, the only work around I can think of is to use the voltage measure function to measure both the CJC reference and the R type sensor channel and then compute the temperature using the polynomial coefficients or a lookup table. Appendix A and B in the 2001-TCSCAN Instruction Manual outline the procedure and the give the coefficients for the R type thermocouple.
The model 2001 and 2002 support the R type thermocouple.
