Voltage measurement of a battery while charging

Post by ppccfgfw » July 30th, 2017, 6:41 am

Hi, I meet a problem. I try to conduct the voltage measurement of the battery using the Keithley 2000 with 2000-SCAN. When the battery is only connected to the 2000-SCAN channel, the voltage measurement works well. However, when the battery is connected to the cable of the test instrument, the signal becomes disturbed, even when the current is zero. Please see the attachments, the signal is normal in the beginning, then becomes more unstable when the current cable is connected.

How could I do to fix the problem? Thank you!

Hard to say without knowing the scale of the data for both volts and time.

Is there a ground Loop?
Does the system use pulsed current to charge or discharge the battery? That could cause some voltage variation.
