Programmatically save csv data to PC instead of USB?

Post by Pepito » February 24th, 2016, 4:00 pm

Hello,

Is there a way to programmatically pull the data from the instrument and save it locally into a PC instead of USB? I'm using Labview and I've downloaded the Labview driver which includes everything, but does not have option to save anywhere else but USB. I've also installed IVI-COM so I can use those libraries, and I don't see any other way.

Is it even possible? Or is this just limited to saving to USB? If possible, how can I do this?

Thanks

Use the TRACE:DATA? command with a VISA WRITE.
Then use a VISA READ to retrieve the data.
Now take the output of the VISA READ into a file in Labview.
Go to the block diagram of your VI.
Right click select the Programming Palette.
Select File I/O Icon.
Grab and move Write Text File icon into the block diagram.
Wire up the output of the VISA READ to the input of the Write Text File.
Select which file pat you wish and create a "control".
That should do it...

The7510 does not have access to the controller OS therefore it cannot access the controller file system. All communications and data transfer is handled via GPIB, USB, Serial or Ethernet. Your controller drivers for these interfaces do not allow access to the file system. As Dale has noted, you must use the File .vi's to save data onto the controller via LabVIEW.
