DMM7510 Scope Trigger SCPI confirmation

Post by [email protected] » February 27th, 2017, 8:30 am

What SCPI command would you use to confirm a valid negative edge trigger on DMM7510 when using the scope function to confirm a negative pulse has occurred?
Many thanks Paul

Hi Paul,

Not sure about a command to confirm that, but when you configure the digitize function to wait on an edge trigger, the trigger model already has a notification block at the end of it that is configured to output a trigger on the External Out line. You will need a scope or something to probe this line and view the trigger pulse.

Another thing you could do is modify the default trigger model and add an Action block with the Log Event action after the Wait block. Now after the instrument is triggered an entry will be added to the event log thus confirming that it was successfully triggered. This is just one of many ways you could modify the trigger model to give you some indicator that the trigger was successfully received.
