In Spec sheet Power consumtion for the 7510 is given with 60VA.
In the past we had a lot of 3706 in use, these instruments are specified with 28W (without any additional cards) only. This is nearly half of 7510.
Now I plan massive parallel testing with up to 24 Multimeter of type 7510 Instruments in one rack. If they really consumes that lot of power I have to consider temperature / cooling.
So the question is: what is the right power consumption number of 7510 doing all day remote voltage measurements only?
To save power I would also set display.lightstate = display.STATE_BLACKOUT
Untill now I haven't bought an instrument to check this by myselfe.

I just did some quick testing of the 7510's power draw using a PA1000.
With the 7510 in factory conditions it was drawing roughly 39VA. Changing the measurement speed did not have any significant effect on the power draw.
By setting the instrument's display to turn off using display.lightstate = display.STATE_LCD_OFF the power draw was 38VA.
When setting the instrument to display.lightstate = display.STATE_BLACKOUT the power draw was 36VA.
The 60VA comes from an extreme case based on the following
1) Streaming digitizer readings to USB / intensive processor activity – adds power draw
2) Analog power (past magflipper) is very inefficient and has a worst case operating budget.
3) User is operating digital I/O – more max power there
4) The total inefficiencies of the power system under worst case line conditions
