DMM7510 crash when saving to USB

Post by niner_007 » May 18th, 2018, 2:34 pm

Hi,

I was recording data on the DMM7510 for a few days at PLC10, I then tried to save the buffer (10,000,000, 5% filled), and it started doing it, the USB was flashing, but it was never ending, I waited for 20 minutes, before giving up and removing the flash drive from the instrument. At that moment, there was a popup saying that the instrument encountered an unrecoverable error and needs to be restarted :/ Doing that, after restart, lost all the data I had in the buffer! :/ This seems quite critical to me, and it lead to data loss! I checked the USB flash, and not all the data was there. Can you please look into it ASAP?

EDIT:

The firmware version of my DMM7510 is 1.6.3d. The 1.6.4c firmware does not have any notes regarding this issue so I don't think it fixes it.

I tried again, and it's easy to reproduce and it reproduces consistently. I even recorded a video, if you want to see please let me know.

Is there anything I can do to not loose the buffer?

Can you share the script/code? Also, what was the size of the USB drive? I would like to reproduce this and get a defect submitted. Thanks.

there was no code at all, just let it log, plug the USB flash in, and then manually save the buffer to the drive and removing it; I was not able to reproduce the hang problem anymore, but the system crash happens anytime, with any flash drive

the flash drive was a 16GB
