2182A error messages

Post by cspin2013 » January 12th, 2015, 1:15 pm

Hello,

I am using the VI 'K2182Read1.vi' attached to read the channel 1 of my 2182A Nanovoltmeter. My laptop is connected with the nanovoltmeter through a GPIB-USB cable, and I am using LabView 2013. Whenever I run the program to read a voltage signal, the 2182A generates a beep, and the front panel displays 'ERROR: -101' and then 'ERROR: -110', although the readings seem to be correct. I don't know what causes these errors. Please give me some advice if you know to fix my problem.

Thank you very much.

Hello,

The -101 and -110 are both syntax errors so as such you may not have entered a parameter correctly or mistyped somewhere in your code, i.e using a "," instead of a "."
If you can save the vi for labview 2012 I would be able to look at the vi and see where the error is coming from.

Hello Joe,

I just attached a screenshot the block diagram of my labview vi and a LV2012 version of my labivew vi.

Thanks a lot.

Hello

On the third write block you have it as :SENS:VOLT:CHAN1:RANG:5e-3 where is should be :SENS:VOLT:CHAN1:RANG 5e-3 so that extra colon is what was giving you the error.
Attached is the fixed VI.

Hello Joe,

Thanks for correcting my syntax error. Actually I just copied that command from the quick reference guide that came with the nano-voltmeter.
When I tried to set auto-range, both ':SENS:VOLT:CHAN1:RANG:AUTO ON' and ':SENS:VOLT:CHAN1:RANG AUTO ON' generated message 'Error:-101'.
Do you know how to fix this problem?
Thank you.
