Triggering 2182A with SMU2601A

Post by PeppeC » March 9th, 2015, 4:32 am

Hi,

I would like to measure the resistance of my samples using the 4 wire method. I'm planning to use my SMU2601A as a current source and the nanovoltmeter 2182A to read the voltage drop across the DUT.

I was wondering if it was possible to trigger the reading of the voltage on 2182A with the 2601 (for example triggering the reading every time the current sourced by 2601 change during a sweep).

Reading the manual it seems that triggering 2182 occurs only trhough the trigger port for cable Models 8501, 8502 and 8503 but the SMU2601 doesn't present any port for such kind of connections.

Are there other ways to trigger the nanovoltmeter with the SMU?

Thanks

Beppe

Model 2600-TLINK would help.
This is a 25 pin D sub connector on one end and trigger link on the other.
It would go form the 2601A digital I/O connector to the Model 2182A trigger link connector.
