6487 - - Ohm Measurement

Post by Brian.Congdon » May 29th, 2015, 7:18 am

What is the maximum possible ohm reading that can be measured by the Keithley 6487?

In theory, the 7485 can source up to 500V.
and it can read down to 1e-14A.
So 500 V / 1e-14A = 50 e17 ohms.
But that is not practical.
So the offset current is about 0.4pF. So I would use that to find out the max resistance.
500V / 0.4pA = 1.25 e15 ohms.
Make sense?
