Problem with reading data from keithley 6485

Hi, I am programming with labwindows to control keithley 6485.

However, READ?\n command does not work at all.

That command only works after I reset the keithley 6485 by *RST\n command.

If I change some settings (like measurement unit or zero correction on-off), then READ?\n command does not work.

Why I can use READ?\n command only after *RST\n command?

I must read data in different setting.

What you describe is very strange and not expected behavior.

Is there perhaps some sort of error message? You can certainly change settings and still have it respond to new read commands.

Can you capture a trace file from NI IOTrace? This might let us better understand.

BTW: is this GPIB or RS-232?
