6485 analog output wrong

Post by khupys » October 30th, 2019, 3:57 am

I am using Keithely 6485 - with +-2V analog output per full scale input.
As the manual says, the output voltage should be between -2 and +2 V, but our measurement shows it is around 3.7 V.
It does change with the reading but only decreases down to around 3.4 V at full scale display at the front panel?
Other functions seem to be working OK.

What could have gone wrong with this 6485?
Any idea ?

Thanks~~!

3.7V vs. expected value of 2.0 is quite a large difference. I suspect malfunction in the analog output circuit.

Is it similar for each current range? Each range should be scaling it's full scale value to approximately +/-2V.

For open circuit condition on the Amp meter (0 Amps), what is the AO value then? Does it come close to zero?

Your instrument may need service.
