rates changed to slow when read voltage through K6221 RS232

Post by hachiko » July 10th, 2013, 9:09 pm

I set 2182A rates to Medium first, then I read a measurement through command "SYST:COMM:SER:SEND MEASURE:VOLT:DC?", the rates is automatically changed to slow, why?
2182A is connected to 6221 through RS232, 6221 is GPIB connected to PC.

And I found, It is very slow to get reading from 2182A through 6221 RS232, it takes about 2-3 seconds.

The :MEASURE:VOLT:DC? query command resets the function of DCV to *RST conditions.
I would use the following code instead.

:SENSE:FUNC 'VOLT:DC'
:READ?

That should keep the DCV function in MEDium speed.
