182 Sensitive Digital Voltmeter

Post by rgonzal021 » October 6th, 2011, 12:04 pm

I've got a 182 voltmeter in which the display goes blank after a few minutes. It's losing the +60V to the display, it goes to 0V. Here are some notes:

- the +5V to the +60V VFD supply looks good even when the I lose the +60V.
- a power supply put in place of VR500 (an 8.2V zener diode) which doesn't help,
- if the display is disconnected, the +60V still stops working.

Without a schematic, I would have to guess that the +60V VFD supply is the next thing to try replacing. It is labelled: ERG Inc. E705-E1368VF. Is it possible to get one of these? Does anyone have any other suggestions on what to check?

Sorry, the last repair date for the Model 182(which is obsolete in 1999) was in 2004.
There are no obsolete parts left in stock.
The Model 2182A replaces the Mode 182.

To whom it may concern:

Our company found replacement VFD modules through the original manufacturer (ERG, inc.)
The specific module in our Keithley 182M was ERG part number E705-E905 VF which was still
a good number with that company.
