Keithley 614

Post by montyiii » February 2nd, 2015, 10:17 am

I am looking to make up for the missing input cable on my recently acquired Model 614. I believe the triax cable connect to be a type TRC. Can someone confirm before I end up hunting down the wrong connector type. Thanx.

The input connector on the Model 614 is a two lug female triax connector.
The supplied input cable is a Model 6011.
This cable is a two slot male triax on one end and three alligator clips on the other end.
This is still a viable product from Keithley, it is not obsolete.

Thank you Dale for the assistance but that did not answer my question. Just about every connector that exists in the world has a part number or reference of some type. I am looking to determine the connector type. I appreciate that the cable is still available from Keithley but I am a small guy with limited funds, hence my purchase of a 30+ year old instrument. Can you please provide the connector type for me? Is it a TRC? Thank you kindly.

The connector is called "TRIAX". I have seen it called mini triax at some point, but triax is the main description.
If just need the connector then try either of these two companies.

Trompeter

Pasternack (not to sure about triax with Pasternack)
You can find them on the web.
They have these connectors and they are called triax.

Here is link to a blog on how they solved a similar connection issue when trying to use an older electrometer with the two lug triax:
