6517A/AF Rel

Post by Copper27 » November 3rd, 2010, 6:48 am

We are trying to calibrate our 6517A/AF Electrometer. Initially DCV was out of tolerance so we ran the alignment and it is now good. The issue we are having now is calibrating the 2 nA rng. The procedure has you set the meter calibrator for 0 V and press the REL button. Our reading is out by exactly the same amount as the error we REL out. If we check it without pressing REL the reading is nominal. I have tried running the alignment numerous times with and without pressing REL but it has the same result.

Are you doing a front panel adjustment?
If so, then the the zero adjust needs to be done for each range CAL:PROT:AZERO2N is the command with a cap on the input.
As far as verify goes I don't know if Rel does the same thing as
:SENS:CURR:DC:REF:ACQuire and :CURR:REF:STAT ON
This is what we do in our verify procedure for each measurement.

Yes we are only using the front panel. We do not have a computer hooked up to the unit.
