181 Nanovoltmeter - no display

Post by ateneycke » July 17th, 2011, 10:03 am

Does anyone have any advice for a Keithley 181 Nanovoltmeter with no display. Currently I have identified that the Analog and Digital +5V, -15V, and +15V power supplies are good. I believe the problem to be that the Reset Line is staying low all the time and giving me a blank display. I believe the problem to be in the area of U105, U106, U109, and U110, but have replaced all of these components to no avail. I am wondering if C105 is bad, a ceramic capacitor being used for clearing the U105 binary counter chip.

Thanks for any help afforded,

I have not information on this unit for you as far as service is concerned.
Even the Keithley service dept technicians are not familiar with instrument.
It went obsolete in 1993 and last repair date is 1999.
