Hi all, i was wondering if someone here could tell me if it's possible to measure Temperature with the Keithley 2750 Meter and the 7702 Multiplexer Card, I'm assuming it can't be done but i'm also hoping i'm wrong :D does anyone know, and if it is possible, can you please tell me how?
I'm using Visual Studio 2010/Visual Basic on Windows 7.

Thanks in Advanced!

Cheers,
Walter Flores

The Model 2750 along with the 7702 card can measure temperature.
It can do this with three sensor options.
1. Thermocouples
2. RTDs
3. Thermistors
The only trouble is the Model 7702 does not have a CJC for the thermocouples. So you would have to use SIMULATED or EXTERNAL for the reference junction.

Thanks for the reply, can you please tell me how exactly should i go about measuring temperature, which channel is it used for this? Or can any channel be used to measure temperature? I have a K Type thermocouple do I need to cut the connector and insert the bare wires into the H pin and L pin of any of the channels?

I'm sorry i've never done this before and i need your guidance.

thanks,
Walter

Since the Model 7702 does not have a CJC on board you should use the SIMULATED reference as the reference junction. this code is for channel 101.
:SENSE:TEMP:TRAN TC, (@101)
:SENSE:TEMP:TC:TYPE K ,(@101)
:SENSE:TEMP:TC:RJUN:RSEL SIM, (@101)
:SENSE:TEMP:TC:RJUN:SIM 28 , (@101)

The TC should be wired into channel 1 of the first slot. And yes you need to strip the wired back and connect them to the screw terminals.
The red lead of the Type K TC should be wired to CH L.
The yellow lead of the Type K T should be wired to CH H.
